I couldn't believe what she'd said. I tried to act different around her, but I guess that wasn't enough. Teresa really was beautiful, so I should've known she didn't like me. I felt like an idiot. The shouts from the others didn't concern me until I heard the one thing that scared me the most; Grievers were going to attack. The Maze didn't close. Suddenly, in the early dark of the evening, they came. Crawling out like spiders, ready to kill. I sprinted to the direction where my name was called, and hid for shelter.

I called his name before ducking down into the building. I heard him come in a moment later, but I couldn't find myself to look at him. I had caused him too much pain.
