The enormous mass of girls shook me, pressed me in various directions and all in all took my breath away. There were so many girls, all of them grinning happily and expectantly. Every centimetre of the hall was stuffed, I hadn’t really space to think. My cousin nervously tugged at her t-shirt beside me, which had got the boys of One Direction printed on the chest.
Also, it was really loud in here, so I didn’t realise that Brenda was talking to me for a while. Only when she poked me, I started paying attention to her.
“Thank you, Mona, thank you for taking me to London and make my wish come true.”
Brenda looked at me with bright blue, smiling eyes, and even a complete idiot could have been able to see, how happy this little girl was.
Brenda was only twelve years old, but she was a full-fledged One Direction-fangirl.
She had posters, pictures, a 1D-mobilephone-case, pens, bracelets, cd’s, everything, what the Directioner-heart wishes.
As the loving cousin, that I am, I decided to stay two nights in London, and bought her, her older sister and me a concert ticket for her birthday evening.
Okay, actually I didn’t ONLY want to do something nice for Brenda. Back in 2010 I had watched every episode of the X-Factor UK, but not because I had been interested in the shows, I haven’t ever been a fan of those casting shows. I only wanted to see a certain person. Or less see that person. I actually wanted to know, how the person’s life had changed.
So I had waited for One Direction, had watched their shows, backstage things and everything. And it had given me a bad feeling, a kind of melancholy. For no reason at all. Or for a very shallow reason, because everything, which had been related to this had happened a very long time ago.
So I hadn’t stopped keep track of One Direction because they had been bad, but because it had somehow remembered me that I am not able to turn my emotional side out.
Because that’s what I basically have been trying to do all the time.
Ignoring my emotions and trying only to listen to the rational voice in my head.
But two years passed and I suddenly felt like….wanting to see him again. And I broke one of my rules with going to this concert but as I already mentioned, I convinced myself, that I was doing this for Brenda.
The level of noise increased and I realised through all my thoughts that something was going on.
The technically boosted voice of man resounded: “And here on stage, only for you, is ONE DIRECTION.”
I had thought that I know what volume means, but I actually hadn’t had a clue till this moment.
Everybody started to scream, as five boys appeared on the stage.
Everybody jumped.
Everybody laughed.
Girls were about to faint.
I grabbed Brenda’s hand and joined in with the screaming, jumping, laughing and almost fainting.
It was incredible.
The boys were amazing, the show extraordinary, and the impact extremely good.
I only knew two songs by One Direction, ‘what makes you beautiful’ of course, and ‘one thing’, but all the songs were beautiful. Every single one had something special, some of them were romantic, some party. Entertaining
