Prologue - Life Is A Rose: Part 1

Well... This is it isn't it? This is where my life well and truly begins.

The building in front of me was known as the Hopeful Gardens. It was a special garden only accessible to the students of Hope's Peak which was just opening today. 

Since I go to Hope's Peak it's pretty clear that I myself am an Ultimate Student. So you may be asking, what is my Ultimate? Well, I am the Ultimate Gardener so I'm very excited about the new garden. And it's a very big garden, big enough to be its own school. 

I'm visiting it with the rest of my new class. There's sixteen of us including me, although I'm a little early so none of them are here yet. Well... Maybe not a 'little' late... They haven't even cut the ribbon yet. 

"Um... Excuse me miss?"

I turned around and saw a short green haired boy. He was looking at me with wide eyes. "Um..." I begun, unsure how to explain to him fhat I wasn't female "I'm actually more of a... Not a miss... Ya get me?" He titled his head "You're a sir?" I couldn't help but laugh at this "N-No... I'm non-binary. As in my pronouns are they and them..." He suddenly seemed to feel bad "O-Oh...I-I'm sorry! I... I shouldn't have made that mistake..."

He looked as if he was like ten or something but sounded around the same age as I was. "I'm guessing you're gonna be in my new class." I muttered. He nodded "Yup! My name is Hideyo Fukumi and I am the Ultimate Fantasy Novelist!" I perked up at this "Oh, of course! I've read some of your books!" His eyes seemed to light up when I said this "Oooh! Which one which one which one?" I paused then muttered "Midnight Daisies... It's been my favourite ever since it came out." He smiled at this "Oooooh! Good choice! That was one of the first ones I wrote!" His smile was so wide, and he looked so happy... I couldn't help but smile too. He then asked "What about you? What's your name?" Hideyo was looking at me expectantly, so I answered "Koko. My name is Koko Jutsumi, the Ultimate Gardener." Hideyo giggled "Heh, get you're gonna love this place!"

I nodded "That's true... That's why I came early." Hideyo then looked behind me and noticed the uncut ribbon. He then looked at his watch "Oooh, My watch is early... Shoot."

I suddenly noticed a hooded figure walking from around the corner. I couldn't see their face... But they suddenly started approaching us. I paused, then looked at Hideyo "H-Hideyo... Get behind me. No questions asked." He paused, then gave a small nod. The figure approached me and stared. I paused, before muttering "Excuse me... Who are you? Are you a student of Hope's Peak?" They shook their head. Then, they suddenly pulled out a gun to my head.

 "W-Woah there! F-For the last time... Who the h-hell are you?!"

 "..."

 The figure stayed silent. But then, so quick that I could barely see it happen, Hideyo got in front of me and knocked th gun out of their hand.

Wow... Hideyo's surprisingly strong

But that didn't stop this attacker. They were quick to grab the boy's wrists and throw him to the floor. Since Hideyo was so small, he went down easily. He hit his head on the ground... He wasn't knocked out but he was weak. 

Then, the attacker tackled me to the ground. We ended up in a struggle... But I wasn't strong enough. 

I have no idea how, but soon enough my eyes were shut tight.

I was out cold.
