Kirishima was stalking around the kitchen, waiting for Midoriya to show up. Even if Bakugo wasn't awake yet, he was sure he could strike up a conversation with the hero somehow. The blonde was upstairs fast asleep having been exhausted the past few days, cancelling the venues, cars, the honeymoon, guest rooms in the hotel and so on. He'd barely slept and had only finally drifted off into slumber at around 8 am this morning, Kirishima events leaving his side to go downstairs and make himself food. He didn't want to wake him since this was basically the only rest he was getting, so instead hoped that him and the Nunber 1 hero could have a good conversation in the meantime. Midoriya was meant to come over today because Bakugo wanted to let him know the wedding was cancelled in person since he was meant to be the best man, and all. Especially because Katsuki was trying to get closer to Izuku, the redhead had thought it might have been a good idea to bring them together to have a proper conversation rather than small talk over a phone.

Since the wedding got cancelled 2 days ago, Bakugo hadn't said much about it, leaving Kirishima clueless about what happened that night. He knows he shouldn't delve his nose into his best friends business, and he never would, but he couldn't stop his mind from being curious and pondering all of the reasons there may be. The morning of that day, he'd mentioned how he wasn't in love with Aimee but there must've been something more to it for them to both mutually agree with the cancellation and to break up as well. If it was a case of Bakugo not being in love with her anymore, couples therapy is definitely something they would've gone into. It just confused him that they'd both give up on each other so easily.

Sighing to himself, he ran his fingers through his hair and began to fix himself a tea, flicking the kettle on to start boiling. Was he being selfish to feel glad that him and Aimee weren't together anymore? Besides, it's not like Kirishima would gain anything from it but even so, it seemed to finally get rid of that jealousy he'd felt for months. Bakugo was straight so he didn't truly know why he'd be experiencing this sense of reassurance. It was stupid really, he'd never be able to be with his best friend, kiss him, love him the way he'd dreamt about when he was only a teen.

His sight went out of focus as he stared into nothing, eyes stuck in place as he thought back to March. The kiss. The way Bakugo's hands entangled themselves in his hair as his back hit the wall. How his lips felt as they were below him, so soft unlike his tough persona or the rough skin on his palms from all of his explosions. Those few seconds were a moment of the greatest bliss he'd yearned for for so long and he missed the feeling. Kirishima knew he was in love with Bakugo since Kamino Ward. Seeing his friend so fearful had never struck him so hard before, and when their hands met in the air, he couldn't deny the electricity that ran through his veins made of relief and love.

A notification from his phone woke him from his trance, the kettle having finished boiling. He glanced down at the screen, noticing the message was from Kurai asking him how he was.
Over the recent days, Kirishima had been avoiding the mans messages since he didn't really know what to say. If he was being truthful, he felt guilty about messaging him when all that was on his mind was Bakugo. He didn't love Kurai. Don't get it twisted, he really appreciated the guy, but his heart was far to strewn out over a certain blonde that there was no way he could have the capacity to love another in that way. Kurai was nice.. perfect, really but he wasn't Bakugo.

Another ping from the small device alerted him, his eyes scanning over the message immediately.
'Is it okay if i call u?'
Shit. Shit.
The redhead scooped up the phone into his palm and started to type that he was busy. Unfortunately, mid typing, Kurai's caller ID popped up, him accidentally pressing on the answer button as he typed.
Fuck.
"Heyyy, Kurai" he grimaced as he held the phone to his ear, picking up the kettle in one hand.
"Hi 'Shima... how've you been?" His tone wasn't full of excitement as he spoke.
Squeezing his eyes shut, he replied "Uh, sorry man i've been super busy- OW FUCK!" He yelled, eyes snapping open as he missed the mug completely with the boiling water, the liquid falling down the side of the counter and onto the floor, touching his feet.
"Are you ok?" His concern laced his words.
"Yeah! Yeah, i'm fine i'm just an idiot" He reassured the brown haired man as he jumped around in pain, toes stinging.
