A man was walking through the corridors of the Town Hall, papers pressed in between his hands, heading toward the Mayor's office. As he's walking by, there are offices filled with people with problems, such as paying a parking ticket or asking for a loan. He noticed one man sat stoic in front of a group of women yelling over the new price on milk.
Reaching the office, he tightens his tie, trepidation growing as he reaches for the knob, and opens the door to find the mayor standing alongside the balcony, back turned towards the man. He abhors talking with the mayor, for he could sometimes never get a well response. The mayor could be facetious, or sometimes be so serious, it's very scary.
"S-Sir?"
The Mayor motions the man to come closer. Filled with anxiety, he does as he is told. At the balcony, he is able to see almost the whole town, along with the citizens doing their everyday jobs.
" Sir, I-I'm here with the weekly report."
However, it seemed as though the Mayor wasn't paying attention to him, keeping his gaze down on the view.
" Look around. What do you see?"
"Um..I don't follow sir."
" I see a good town, filled with good people, and with enough resources to provide us a future."
The Mayor then walks to one of the shelves and pulls out a book, revealing a secret opening in the wall. Again, he motions to the man again to follow.
Walking along a dark path, they end up in an elevator. The man was a bit wary to get in, but the mayor was already waiting for him, so he felt as though he had no other choice. Inside, the Mayor enters a code into a panel, causing the elevator to go down. Reaching the ground, the man steps out to find another hallway, with a metal door by itslef.
After putting in another code, the door opens, and the man swalks into a dark room, and the mayor flicks the light. As soon as the light turned on, the man was shocked to see a large number of piles of money all around him.
" Do you ever wonder where all the money goes? Well, now you know."
" But sir... why don't why use this money to improve the town."
The mayor walked up to the man, with a sort of menacing expression. The mayor was a bit taller than the man, thus making him feel small and diffident. As he got closer, more and more anxious the man became.
" What do you mean, 'Improve the town'?"
" W-Well, for instance, we can help those in need, or loan some to the schools and churches."
The man was now face-to-face with the mayor. He could now feel drops of sweat coming off his face, as the mayor gave him a brusque response.
" Do you think that if the schools or churches or the homeless wanted money, they would've worked for it?"
"Y-Yes?
" Yes indeed. No, this money will be used for something else, which is beyond your concen. Is that understood?"
"...Y-Yes, sir."
" Good. Now, you can tell me about those reports along the way back".
The mayor backed away from his face, and he led the man out of the room and back to the elevator. The man, still shocked, was a bit tepid to give the reports to him, especially after what had just happened. After pushing in a different code, they started to head up. Arriving back on the top floor, the man continued his report as they walked back into the mayor's office.
"..and Alice seeks your approval to cut down the tree near her house. She's very emphatic on how she is afraid that it will fall down onto her house during the winter season."
" Good, good. What about the newcomers?"
"Newcomers, sir?"
The mayor walked towards the balcony, and pointed to one of the houses closest to the woods.
" Oh, yes. The newcomers...I'm not sure when they're supposed to arrive any day now. Oh, by the way, sir, whatever happened to the previous owners of the house."
The man flicked through his notes, finally stopping on what he was looking for.
" They were supposed to sign out, but records show that they never came in. And when we went to check on them, it seemed as though they left without any of their stuff."
"Hmm.. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. Now, send Rebecca to go get me a cup of coffee....She knows how I like it."
" Yes sir."
It was clear to the man the mayor was adamant on giving a clear answer, so he began to head off.
As the man was reaching for the doorknob, the mayor called out to him once more, with a stern expression on his face.
" Oh, and remember.. We only talked about the reports today. Is that understood?"
" Y-Yes, sir."
Without a second glance, the man walked out of the room.

A car pulls up to an empty house. Getting out of the vehicle, the boy with the beanie takes off his headphones, and checks out the area. He was laudatory to get out and stretch his legs after being stuck in the car for almost 3 days. As he's walking around, underneath the window at the back of the house, he spots something in the ground. He picks up a piece of torn paper, scribbled with the words, "he lies.." As he's staring at it, he begins to develop the feeling as though someone was watching him.
" Winston! Come help me take out the boxes."Snapping out of his trance, he puts the paper in his back pocket, and heads back to the front.
" Coming, mom!"
