A Memory

"Hey, hey, here he is! The bitch is hiding!" "You thought you could hide from us? Hah, what an idiot." "We'll burn you till you're crippled!" "Oh don't you crawl away you cowardly bastard, you are mine!" I could hear them, the Inferni of my nightmares. I could still feel the flames licking at my toes, my own screaming filling my ears, and the burning punches to my stomach. They weren't stupid. They only harmed what couldn't be seen. I conjured all the energy that I had left and pushed my hands towards the closed door, the only thing dividing me from them. Frey, Alcove, Bones, and Drew. Drew was worse of all. He knew all my weaknesses, my fears, and all my nervous tics. As usual, the four Inferni burned through all my icy barriers.

Frey and Bones grabbed me by the wrists and held me up. Alcove, who had the ability to pull the strongest combustible molecules from the air, meaning, the most pain. He trapped my feet in big violet flames as I screamed for help, my voice hoarse, cheeks wet with tears, and knees bloody. Drew came is last, with a serene smile and calm attitude. "Oh, Addy. You know those stupid little flames don't hurt you, don't you?" It was true. Because of my strange ability with ice, flames weren't able to burn or kill me. But that didn't mean that I felt no pain. It plainly meant 0% damage, 100% pain. I gritted my teeth and managed to say "D-do not-t call m-me Addy." Drew laughed. "Got some attitude, don't you, Addy? You should have known better." He said. I screamed louder as another wave of flames engulfed my frail body. "PLEASE...LET ME GO!" I yelled, my voice hoarse. "Please...". I could barely keep my eyes open, my limbs limp, my arms only held up by Frey and Bones. "Oh, no. I couldn't do that, little brother." Drew said, walking towards me. Frey and Bones let me go. I collapsed on the floor, my body still blanketed in fire. I had no energy left to scream. "What a bitch boy." Drew cackled. My brother punched me in the stomach, and I blacked out.

The memory washed out from my head, and suddenly, I was back in the dining room. I finally gasped a shaky breath as hands shook me, touched me. I shook them all off and walked away. They should have known better than to touch me. Before, I was known as the bitch. The cowardly bastard who couldn't even get love from his older brother. Now, I was the Ice prince, and no one would touch me. No one. Then a familiar hand grasped my shoulder blades. Drew.
