Rose Weasley plopped down in a chair in the Room of Requirement at 6:00 PM. She had asked for a comfy reading room, and so, as always, the Room responded accordingly. Rose had been using the room for its peace and quiet for several days now, and surprisingly, no one had noticed her dissapearing. She could only hope it would stay that way. Suddenly, she heard the door to the room open.
"Who is that?" She called.
"Rose? Is that you? Asked the voice
"SCORPIUS? How did you get in here" Rose asked, stepping into view
"Uh, I used the Room Of Requirement." Scorpius Malfoy said
"Well, duh, but how did you know I would be in here?"
"Well, I mean, I am a Hufflepuff. Hufflepuffs are partucularly good finders" (hehe AVPM reference)
Rose stepped foreward, trying to decide what to do about him. Should she just grab her wand, hex him and possibly get a detention? Or should she politelty ask him to leave? But then again, he did come looking for her for a reason. She was curious why he was here, so decided to press him for more information.
"Why did you come looking for me?" Rose inquired
"I don't know if you'll understand."
"EXPLAIN"
"Rose, I really don't know how to explain to you why I'm here. I just really need to let you know that I can't get you out of my head. And I'm really sorry if I was ever mean to you or your family. I've really been trying to shake the Malfoy-all-slytherin reputation people expect me to have, and it's not easy when your father looks at you, wondering what went wrong. I try to tell him nothing went wrong, that I'm okay, but it doesn't work. When I was in second and first year I know i was really mean to Albus and the rest of your family, and honestly, I'm apologizing. Now I'm in fifth year, and I've grown more." He paused, then continued with an extremely sincere, caring expression. "Rose Weasley, I believe I was sorted in Hufflepuff for a reason, not just that I like midnight snacks and finding things. I believe the sorting hat wanted me where I am now because I need to break the Malfoy stereotypes and be more friendly. What I'm really trying to say is that I was hoping you would allow me to be your friend."
Rose stood stunned from his truly sincere apology. There was no question in her mind he meant it. He almost looked on the edge of tears.
"Okay" Rose said
"Okay? Like, your really, really, reaaly okay with it?" Scorpius asked
"Yeah. I do believe you. Just don't count it that my dad will be okay with it"
"I'll take that risk"
.......1 year later.......
"You're bringing a Malfoy? Rose, what are you thinking! Your dad will kill you!" exclaimed Lily.
"Well, I mean, it's about time I come clean about it. I've gone too long trying not to let him know." explaned Rose, trying to justify her choice.
Today was Rose's sixteenth birthday, and she decided, after one year of getting closer and closer to Scorpius, she decided it was time for her family to meet Scorpius, after all, he was her closest friend.
"When are you going to tell him? pressed Lily
"Well, I was thinking, maybe... now?" Rose suggested
"I honestly think you waited too long to tell him"
"Well, I don't have a time turner, so that's kind of useless. And anyways, the party is today, so I may as well tell him now so I have more time to convince him."
