Hugo Weasley shielded his face from the strong winds on a Friday afternoon on the quidditch pitch. Memories from when he was a first year and crashed into the Herbology classroom taunted at his mind, making him want to just give up and go back to the Gryffindor common room. But he had worked hard on his for several months now, and he wasn't just letting it slip by already. He had brought it to the professor's attention that in quidditch, there wasn't any type of refreshments or snacks whatsoever, and he found it an abomination. In muggle sports they had them, so why wasn't it like that in wizarding sports? Since Hugo was frankly the worst quidditch player in all of wizarding history yet still loved the game, he thought, why not do more than watch?
The leaves crunched beneath his feet as he loaded up the cup holder pack full of bottles of butterbeer, sugar quills, chocolate frogs, and Bertie Bott's Beans. For now it was only him handing out the sugary items, but he hoped to earn enough money to pay it all off and possibly earn a little money. A few Slytherin seventh-year students grinned at him from a few yards away, probably plotting which spells to shoot at him to make the butterbeer spill. Hugo had endured unconditional hate from other students for trying to do something a little different, but he knew there were a few people who would be willing to team up with him on the idea. He just had to find them.
The game began, and Hugo started going up and down the isles of the statium. First he started with Gryffindor, knowing that would be the house most likely to buy from him, considering all of them were his friends. The game was Ravenclaw against Gryffindor, so Teddy Lupin was in the Gryffindor croud with Victoire.
"Oi! Hugo! Can I get two butterbeers?" Teddy asked.
"Sure" Hugo responded, noticing Teddy gave him 2 galleons extra than what was the actual price, "Teddy you gave me e-"
"-Keep it" He rushed.
Feeling that it might not be as bad as he thought, Hugo contiued through the stands. Albus bought several chocolate frogs, and Lucy Weasley bought several sugar quills for all of her friends.Hugo glanced up to see Lily Luna racing across the quidditch pitch on her broom with the quaffle in her possesion. Everyone cheered as she threw it with force that seemed very improbable for her size into the goal. The keeper from the Ravenclaw team sat dumbfounded as Lily sped off to score more goals.
Once he reached the Hufflepuff group, a large amount of people bought his Bertie Bott's Beans, and they all seemed to be trading with each other to collect an amount of one certain color or flavor. Questioning to himself why they would be doing that, he kept on moving.
Sales went welll until he reached the Slytherin groups. One student actually tried to fire a spell at him, but Hugo dodged it just in time.
"HEY! Weasley! Earning some money so you can buy some real clothes that haven't been worn by twenty other people?" Snorted a student from the Lestrange family.
"And maybe you can buy a wand that wasn't made fifty years ago?" Taunted another.
Hugo just ducked his head down and kept walking, hoping no one else would fire any more insults. Except another voice popped up that wasn't as accusing as the others.
"Hey! How much do the butterbeers cost?" Asked a Slytherin first year.
"A galleon each." He responded, surprised at the unoffensive voice.
"Toss me one? Here's a galleon." She said.
That was the only Slytherin student who wasn't eithewr trying to fire a spell or insult him.
After the game ended, Hugo had selled almost all of his supplies for that match. Feeling proud of himself, he opened up one of the remaining butterbeers and made a silent toast to himself. Suddenly, he heard someone sniffling. He turned around only to see the Ravenclaw seeker that Lily had triumphed over a few yards away.
"Hey, you okay?" asked Hugo, moving foreward and sitting down next to her on the bleachers.
"Fine." she mumbled not even looking up at him.
"You don't seem fine."
She finallly looked up, her eyes puffy and red. Her hair was wind-blown and light brown, her uniform wrinkly. Other than the fact that she was crying and her hair was tangled, Hugo thought she wasn't too bad looking.
She sighed and said, "I'm just afraid the captain will kick me off the team because I'm not good enough."
"What's your name?" Hugo asked randomly.
"Um, Candice Lenwaten."
"Candice. Cool. So tell me, would you like a butterbeer?"
"Well, I don't have any money."
"It's fine. On the house." Hugo said, pulling a butterbeer from the cup holder and putting it in her hand.
"What's your name?"
"Hugo. Hugo Weasley."
"What year are you in?" Candice asked.
"It's my fourth year, and I'm in Gryffindor."
"It's my forth year too. I'm in Ravenclaw."
"Cool. And if it makes you feel any better, I suck at quidditch too."
"Really?'' she asked doubtfully.
"Yep. I've started my own buisness of refreshment selling."
"Really? Wow that-that's cool! Like, really cool! I've always admired wizard entreprenuers."
"Thank you. Today was my first day trying it out."
"Well, I hope it went well."
"Eh, it went okay," he shrugged, "but anyways, I'll have to get going. Meet you in the East side of the library tomorrow sometime?"
"Oh, um, yeah, sure. That sounds great." she said, slightly taken back by his offer.
"Great, See you later, Candice Lenwaten."
