Josephine's POV
All Hero and I did today was talk about what our wedding was going to be like. We both decided on a simple wedding by the beach here in Perth, and we also didn't want a lot of people there. We're of course inviting his family and my mom and Katherine, we also wanted Anna and her family there. He isn't going to have any grooms men but his best man will be Felix, of course, and I haven't choosen who I wanted to be my maid of honour yet. I was thinking of asking Mercy but I know that will piss off Katherine so I'll just end up asking her. And we also talked about what date we should go and get fitted for my dress and his tux which shouldn't be a problem because we have all of the time that we need. The wedding is still a month away, which doesn't seem like enough time but time has been going slowly lately so it shouldn't be a problem.
Hero has already dozed off into a deep sleep while I'm wide awake, laying beside him and looking up at the ceiling. I don't know why but I just can't seem to force sleep upon myself, it might be the stress of the wedding or just a million thoughts that are running through my head, thoughts that I can't seem to sort out. I look over at Hero and he is sleeping peacefully, his face looks calm and worry free. I slowly pull the cuvet off of my body, getting up as quiet as I can so that I don't wake him. I walk across the room and slide open the balcony door, and looking back at Hero, making sure that he's still sleeping. I walk out onto the deck, looking out onto the city, and the looking up at the moon.
I close my eyes, taking in the fresh Australian air, and letting out a deep breath. I open my eyes, looking directly at the moon, it is full and bright, it is almost visible in the entire room and out here on the balcony. I lean against the railing as I stare up at the sky. The wind picks up a little but it makes the warm night cool down a little. It whips through my hair, pushing it back a little bit. I stand here, looking at the moon for a little while, letting calm wash over my body and mind.
"What are you doing?" I hear Hero's husky voice say from behind me, making me jump a little. I look back at him and he is standing in the door way in a pair of black shorts that hang low on his waist and without a shirt on.
"Just getting some fresh air. I didn't wake you did I?" I ask and he pads over to where I am slowly. "No, I was reaching for you and you weren't there. I thought you left but I saw you standing out here." He says and I fully turn around so that I can see him without straining my neck.
He stops and stands right infront of me, looking down at me with a face of stone. "What's wrong?" I ask him and his jaw clenches.
"Why are you out here?" He asks and my brows furrow as I look at him in confusion. "I couldn't sleep. So I came out here, is that so wrong?" I ask him and his face softens.
"No." He tells me and I take in a deep breath. "I'm sorry, I'm just paranoid." He says and I look down at his chest, then back up to his face.
"Why?" I ask him softly, making in look down at his feet. "Because I'm afraid you'll leave me." He whispers, his voice getting lost in the wind, making me think that it's all a dream.
"Why would you think that I'd leave you? I love you more than anything." I tell him and he nods, not looking up at me. "Look at me." I say softly but still with authority. He obliges and glances up to meet my eyes.
"I'm never going to leave you." I tell him and he shrugs. "Yeah, and Tessa said the same thing to Hardin, and what happened? She left him." He says and I scoff.
"Hero, we aren't Tessa and Hardin. Why do you keep compairing our lives to theirs?" I ask him and tears fill his eyes. "Because I feel like I'm turning into him Jo!" He says loudly and I sigh.
"You aren't turning into Hardin." I tell him and he is quick with his response.
"How? I've done everything like him. I've partied, got drunk and slept with some random girl. I've hurt you purposely, multiple times, just like he did to her. We basically live their lives!" He yells and I shake my head.
