i am not spreading hate on anybody in this reboot (production or cast) this is just my personal thoughts on what info has been released previously - i might end up watching it & maybe liking it so keep that in mind.

my thoughts on info so far:

i love how they've added a lot more diversity compared to the original

the original show runners are back aswell as the costume designer but i'm not getting the same vibe in terms of fashion.

i know that it's obviously suited to modern day fashion but one of my favourite parts about gossip girl is the timeless fashion which isn't really shown in the reboot - they're wearing trends which isn't a bad thing, blair waldorf set trends every day BUT it just doesn't feel the same :((

ik i wasn't around when gg first aired but i first watched it 4 years ago on netflix & i've rewatched it countless times - it's possibly my all time favourite show :))

also apparently julien is an influencer which could be a little cringey so hopefully she's played well - which i'm sure she will be!

*this next part is a little controversial but it's my opinion so please don't get angry if u disagree 😭😭 *

joshua safran has tweeted that there won't be any slút shaming or physical fighting in the reboot and while i don't in any way condone that behaviour, gossip girl & blair in particular was known for its/her bitchiness and the scandals were half the fun of watching it!!

one of my favourite scenes is the infamous yale fight:
