Request : the gang mocks stefan for sleeping with a stuff toy and no one knows the back story except elena and Damon. When everyone finds out they feel bad and comfort him. Stelena relationship.

Author's note: let's assume Emily was a nanny? Or a servant? Or something and Stefan and damon knew she was a witch since always. Plus I totally support the lgbtq+ community with all my heart and I resent the times when homophobia was normalised, but realistically in 1864 , it was and I'm gonna show bullies bullying Stefan for being sensitive, and I hate when ppl do that ofc.. It's not my opinion!!

Stefan's pov:
We were just chilling out at mystic grills when matt started whining about his new girlfriend. "And then I blocked her -" "Great job! Real mature-" He literally blocked her after she didn't pick up his call, he was being childish. " Well coming from the guy who sleeps with a stuffed animal, that sure is 'real mature', isn't it steffie? " He said mocking me. Everyone started laughing at me. I was fighting the urge to literally strangle him to death. " Cut it out-" "Or what? You're gonna tell mommy how matt is bullying you?? "He said Making a fake puppy face which annoyed me, the comment reminded me of mother, I was biting back tears. "Shut up matt" Elena said , cutting him off. Tyler chimed in " No no, I bet he's gonna cry to his stuffed animal, aren't you steffie? "Punching me in the chest, not hard, just irritating. " Hey! Stop it " Damon joined in. I felt like i was going to cry.. I did not want them to see me like this. "Stefan- wait! " I heard Elena's voice but I had to leave.

Elena's pov:
I saw stefan go and decided to follow him when Damon stopped me, "give him some space and time .. " "DO YOU EVEN KNOW HOW MUCH HE HAS BEEN THROUGH IN HIS LIFE? " "What the hell elena? He was being such a baby about it-" "He was not! You don't know him" Damon said clearly offended. "Oh then tell me " Matt said mockingly. " Oh I will.. You know we lost our mother when Stefan was 8 and I was 15? " "I'm sorry man-" "Listen! When she got sick we weren't allowed to go near her, but Stefan was always such a mama's boy, also he was young, so young.. He snuck out there one day.. He was crying and mom tried to convince him she's going to be there for him, always, so she gave him a stuffed animal, 'in case something happens to me, know that you are not alone, take this , you'll be okay, I'll always be with you' is what she said to him .. It's his luck father didn't find out about this , god! He would've killed him.. Anyways, She got really sick and died and Stefan obviously didn't take it too well, he cried for days, didn't eat, all he did was clutch on to the toy as if his life depended on it and weep, he was getting sick.. Father forced him to go to school and he went there all sick and- and skinny having not eaten in days, eyes all puffy from crying, dark circles surrounding them.. He still had the toy in his hand, he refused to leave without it. " I could see tears forming in his eyes. "When he went to school some bullies made fun of him for his appearance, for crying and having a toy in his hands and called him girly and stuff, all the homophobic comments , insulted and mocked our mother's death-" He took a deep breath "anyways, Stefan was just a kid, of course he didn't take it well he ran back to home crying at the top of his voice and father saw this and slapped him 'man up! I bet your mother would've killed herself if she would've seen what a girly boy you are- I WILL NOT TOLERATE THIS NONSENSE!!' He snatched the toy from his hand tearing it away and stefan cried and begged him to let him go but he didn't, he locked stefan in a small cabinet, for spices, for almost a day , as a punishment for crying and 'not being a man' " He said with disgust in his tone " I tried to get him out but father had the keys. Stefan was deadly scared of the dark and kept murmuring 'mama please help me I can't breathe' like a mantra , sobbing, wailing actually.. I stayed outside the whole time trying to calm him down but I don't think he heard me ..he just kept murmuring pleas for mom to come save him, as if he actually believed she would ... it all suddenly stopped ..I started banging on the door of the cabinet scared that something had happened to him. He didn't stop, didn't even murmur 'mama' anymore, he was just silent. I begged father to open the door telling him I felt something bad had happened , he finally got up and opened the door. An unconscious Stefan was lying out there and fell when the door was opened, he looked pale and had tears dried out all over his face. We got him a doctor and I remember how horrified I felt when he lifted Stefan's shirt, his ribs were protruding out. He hadn't eaten and no one had cared.. He was 8 for God's sake, just a child. When he woke up the first thing he asked for was the toy, it was torn a bit. He begged Emily to do some witchy stuff to protect it forever, he said he'd die without it, he said there's .. Mom in there 'Damon..does mama hate me?' I remember him asking me , father's words had gotten to him I told him that's impossible and he calmed down.. He thinks as long as he has the toy, his mom is with him..That is why he always sleeps with it .. Now you know!! Happy??" Everyone had tears in their eyes by now. "I'm so sorry.. We didn't know " They all went after stefan. We opened his door to see him clutching the toy and sobbing. He got worked up when he saw us. I tried to calm him down, Damon and I were the only ones who knew about this, the others didn't. They felt guilty now. They apologized, and stefan, being the forgiving saint he is, forgave them and everything was sorted out . All our hearts ached for his broken ,yet so pure, one.
