It was midnight. The dark pouncing upon the street, the only form of light being the dim street lights shining above the street in a watchful manner. Jungwoo was home now. He was angry and frustrated. So angry that he started screaming and throwing things around him. To cool himself he decided to take a shower, fear and anger remaining in his head as warm droplets of water rolled down his body relaxing every single muscle of his. With a towel on his waist, Jungwoo walked near the big glass window of his room, he lit a cigarette looking down at the city "It was you, wasn't it" Jungwoo asked. He was terrified and didn't know what to do, where to go and whom to ask for. All he knew was that, he had found the culprit. He kept the bracelet on his bedside table before closing his eyes.
Taehyung was up watching a movie that he had already watched 3 times, 'The Clockwork Orange', a masterpiece by Stanley Kubrick. His favorite movie was 'What's eating Gilbert Grape' though. He was attached to the character of Arnie and Gilbert played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp. The love between the two brothers and the way Gilbert looked after his younger brother. It reminded him of his older brother Taesung. The movie was over and Taehyung was also tired. He immediately switched the TV off, popped a sleeping pill in his mouth followed by water. The pill sliding down his throat smoothly made him feel at ease, taking him to a new world of darkness.
*8:30am*
"Shit!" Taehyung cursed as he woke up and his eyes met the clock, he was late by 30 minutes. He wondered what Jungwoo is doing downstairs from 30 minutes and why didn't he call him.*8:00am this morning*
Jungwoo had arrived on time to pick Taehyung up, but Taehyung wasn't there, he decided to wait. He looked around the basement. It was as grand as that of a 5 star hotel, expensive cars parked there with not even a single particle of dust on them. He could easily say that upper-middle class people lived there. He was analyzing things around when he realized that he was there to pick Taehyung up who wasn't there yet. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and was about to call Taehyung but stopped. He kept it back inside his pocket and looked at the watchman. He walked towards him and said, "I wanna check the camera footage from a few days back." The watchman gave a look as if to say 'are you out of your mind?' He opened his mouth to probably shout at the younger officer but Jungwoo took out his ID and slammed it on the table. The watchman opened his mouth in surprise and opened the CCTV footage.*Back to the present*
"Oh Jesus! I really need to stop watching movies late night" Taehyung mumbled to himself in the elevator while wearing his coat. He combed his hair inside the elevator. It takes a while to get down from the 14th floor. He walked put of the elevator and ran straight to Jungwoo. "What were you doing? Why didn't you call me?" Taehyung asked Jungwoo. "Sorry sir I myself got late today, I was and am still feeling dizzy" he answered with a weak and forced smile on his face. "Oh ok sure its not serious?" His voice and eyes showing unconditional concern and affection, which made Jungwoo feel terrible and guilty, wait guilty? But why? He kept that weak smile on his face as tears showed up in his beautiful eyes. Taehyung hugged him tightly, and Jungwoo gripped Taehyung's coat even tighter releasing himself in the older ones embrace, the watchman staring at them blankly. "If you don't feel like coming today, you don't have to dear, I'll talk to Sir Kyuhyun" Taehyung said. Taehyung never showed his love so openly but seeing tears in Jungwoo's eyes made his heart weep. What even was this relation? "No sir its alright, I'll come" Jungwoo said wiping his tears and ignoring the fact that this was the first time Taehyung called him using such a word as 'dear'. Taehyung patted Jungwoo's shoulder as they both got into Jungwoo's car. On the way too Jungwoo kept sobbing quietly, he just wanted it all to be a huge nightmare. He wished he never approached the watchman. He realized that sometimes it is better to remain in the dark than to get revealed to the brightness that hurts your eyes. Sometimes it's better to perceive a lie than to be blinded by the hurtful truth. The times where the lie is comfort and the truth is a bed of spikes to lay on.
