the last dream

I look up to a sky full of stars, a abundant of light from a thousand suns.

I felt the air like it was a blanket wrapped around me, warm and soft.

I heard the owls in a tree off in the distance, like echoing voices in a deep dark cave that never need hearing.

I smelled the meadow grass, fresh and green, like spring had sprouted in one night of the earth bellow.

I tasted the wind, full of fresh fallen rain and sweet honey.

I closed my eyes and let every sense take over. One by one they clouded my mind, my heart, my soul. I opened my eyes, my family surrounding my hospital bed, each one with tears in their eyes, and my boyfriend holding my limp hand,

"I love you Trissa."

"I love you Kyle."

I said, my eyes locked with his, and slowly the world lit up, I felt my last breath leave my lungs, then it went silent.
