"You weren't here yesterday?" Bakugo asked more than stating, a slim curiosity lingering his voice.
In response, Y/n chuckled at yet once again, finding a great opportunity to tease the boy. "Was someone worried?" she smugly smirked towards the now pissed-off Bakugo.
"HUH? SHUT IT, I WAS NOT WORRIED." "Sure thing" Y/n giggled out before taking a seat next to Bakugo on top his side of the rooftop. Y/n was quick to notice the weird console thing the boy giving all of his focus too.
Face scrunching up in curiosity, Y/n peaked her head over Bakugo's shoulder to take a better look at what he was holding.
"Get off me idio-" "What is that?"
Soon, with Y/n's question, Bakugo's eyes scrunched up in confusion before letting out a disappointed sigh. "It's my Switch, what else could it be?"
In sudden surprise, Y/n bouncily jumped up in amazement, hearts filling her eyes.
"Woah! Did they make that personalised for you?" "What do you mean personalised? Idiot, this is the normal coloured Switch..." "But Bakugo, these aren't sold in the stores?" "What do you mean they aren't? Of course, they are idiot!"
Now, Y/n had been feeling more confused than ever. As far as she knew, no one other than herself had gone that far in technology yet which was one of the other reasons she had been targeted so many times.
With the small time she was gone from the outside world, there was no way that technology went that far.
Stumbling over her words, Y/n managed to ask, "Bakugo, that's too far ahead of technology..."
Now, confusion also arose in the boy. "No, it really isn't" he answered back, words seemingly translating into tinted whispers.
"Show me" Y/n stated.
With a firm nod, Bakugo harshly grabbed Y/n's wrist, dragging her along with him to wherever he was planning to go.
"Let go Bakugo. Where are we going anyways?" Y/n asked the boy, looking around for any hints. The two made their way where the ladders to the rooftop where at, Bakugo dragging both of them to climb down the ladder.
"We are going to visit a store and I will show you."
Soon enough, the two were now wandering around the less crowded than usual streets, Bakugo keeping his firm hold on Y/n's wrist as he dragged her along with him.
Both of their heart paces were speeding up much more than usual at the contact however, the two were in too much confusion to be aware of it.
After a few minutes of the two walking down the streets, Bakugo came to a stop in front of a dark blue small sized store.
"Let's go in."
A fresh air hit both of their warm faces, instantly refreshing them up. Straight away, Bakugo started pulling Y/n along into the Nintendo section. Y/n's eyes widened at the sight of the store being so full of advanced technology.
As the two came to a stop, Bakugo reluctantly let go off Y/n's wrist to showcase many of the Nintendo Switch boxes displayed in front of her. At the sight, Y/n's e/c eyes shone with admiration, widening much larger than Bakugo could have imagined.
"H-How?" she stuttered over her words, trying to sort the thoughts in her head.
Meanwhile, Bakugo was feeling both prideful and bewildered. Prideful since he got to impress the girl with but bewildered because it truly confused him how a girl that into technology hadn't known about this yet.
Y/n hesitantly reached out to one of the boxes, eyes shimming brighter once she got a hold of the technology.
"Oh Boy..." she muttered to herself, carefully inspecting the box over and over again. A few feet away, the boy admired the genuinely intrigued girl, once again taking deep sharp notices of her facial features. Her hair, the way she would slightly bounce every few seconds...
However, Bakugo was quick to dismiss his inner thoughts of the girl when he saw how quick her once extremely joyful eyes turned into ones of panic. Bakugo was quick to react.
Reluctantly, Y/n averted her gaze into Bakugo's confused crimson-coloured eyes. "Bakugo, what does this number indicate?" she asked, pointing to a tiny number on the backside of the box.
Bakugo came closer to the girl to take a close look at the number. "2017, it's when it was created dumbass" Bakugo answered to the girl, concern starting to lace into his words.
Y/n's whole body tensed up, putting her hands in front of her while slightly backing away from the boy. Now, Bakugo was really confused at how the normally laid-back girl was acting so careful and tensely around him.
Y/n took this time to calm herself down, taking deep breaths in and out. After a few seconds, she asked the big question that laid on her mind, "Bakugo, what year is it now?"
"Steam, please calm do-" "ANSWER ME!" "IT'S 2030, IDIOT! NOW CALM DOWN AND LET ME HE-"
Y/n's figure hunched down, eyes stunned with silence at the sudden realisation, fully zoning out on the rest of Bakugo's words.
This was why the two always spoke so differently. This was why she was never able to figure out the many hero posters scattered all around Bakugo's room. This was why she never knew any of the games he had mention to her.
This was also the reason why she finally figured out what caused her endless heart ache.
Still in pure shock, Y/n's figure straightened itself up from her hunched down one before quickly dashing towards the streets.
"H-HEY! WHAT'S GOING ON?" Bakugo questioningly yelled out however, being quick to follow the girl.
However, Bakugo's distant yells were the last thing in Y/n's mind.
All of her thoughts screamed at her and they all told her,
'You screwed up.'
