Adrien was practising the piano, his bodyguard was with him to make sure that he was really playing the piano and it was not his phone. He tried his best to stay focused on the song, but another melody was occupying his mind. He gritted his teeth and stopped playing, as he pressed on the wrong key.

He sighed and turned his gaze towards Goarilla, who had this expressionless face he usually wore.

"Can I talk to you about something?"

He questioned his bodyguard, but of course, as usual, no response or reaction from him.

Adrien just decided to keep going.

" There's this girl... I've always loved. But she doesn't feel the same way. " He paused before continuing again. " I tried to change targets and give Kagami and I a chance. But it didn't work out. "  His eyes fell on the bracelet he was wearing. " Because apparently I already liked someone else more. "

His lips formed into a smile as he thought of his pig-tailed (not so) friend. ".. it's not the first girl.. but someone else. She's been one of my closest friends ever since I've started going to school. She's always there for her friends, ready to help and save the day. She's an everyday Ladybug. "

However, Gorilla still had no reaction. Adrien wasn't sure if he even blinked.

"Nevermind." He muttered to himself.

The model turned his attention back to the piano, and started playing the song that's been stuck in his head a lot lately.

It always brought a smile to his face whenever he played it, as he'd imagine himself dancing... with the girl he couldn't stop thinking about.

As he had his eyes closed, passionately pressing on the notes, his father came in unnoticed until he cleared his throat. Adrien's eyes shot open and immediately stopped his tracks.

"Such a nice melody, Adrien, but I don't believe this is the song you were supposed to be practicing on. "

"Yes, I know. Sorry father, it won't happen again." He said sadly.

Gabriel sighed and leaned towards the wall, his arms crossed.

"Me and your mother used to dance to this song a lot. "

Adrien's eyes shot opened in surprise.

" Really? "

" Yes, the first time we met ... we danced to this song. I could instantly tell that we were meant to be."

Adrien gaped at his father, before smiling warmly at him. It's the first time he's hearing this. His father never opened up like this before.

"Oh wow..I had no idea.."

" What about you son?"

Adrien blinked in response.

"You obviously were thinking of someone while playing it. Is it Mrs. Tsuguri's daughter?"

The blonde flushed as he looked at anything but his father, nervously rubbing the back of his neck. "No, father. "

He gazed down for a moment before looking up to meet his father's gaze again.

" It's Marinette. "

Gabriel raised his brow. " Dupain-Cheng?"

" Yes, father. "

"I see. Did you two dance to this song together?"

Why is he interested in my love life all of the sudden? Adren wondered, but didn't really complain. He was actually having a normal conversation with his dad. A real one. He was so happy that they were talking, not to mention he seemed understanding for once!

Adrien couldn't help but let out a lovesick sigh.

"Yes father. Twice actually. First time at Chloe's party and second time in New York, when I went with my classmates."

Gabriel hummed and nodded his head in understanding.

"Are you two... an item?"

The boy definitely didn't expect this question.

"U-uh...No, we are just... friends."

Gabriel raised his brow again.

"How so?"

"W-what?"

" It's pretty obvious that you like each other."

"I-it is?"

His father snorted at the flustered teen's behaviour. "You don't?"

" I-I do! But I'm not sure she does..I " Adrien looked sadly down on the floor and clenched his fists. "..saw her dancing with someone else yesterday."

" Is that why your Mandarin tutor said that you were distracted today? "

" No! I-I wasn't!.. I'm sorry father. " He raised his head before lowering it again, preparing himself for any worst punishment his father could give in order to make him stop seeing Marinette.

" Adrien..this cannot be repeated. You have to concentrate on your studies, and not get distracted by her idiotic games. "

" Idiotic Games? "

" It seems like she did that to make you jealous. And I can see that it worked. "

" What? Marinette? No way. "

Gabriel shook his head in frustration. Why are kids these days so oblivious?

" Try to get closer to her son, and make sure you show her how special she is to you, by actions. It's the little things, and she is yours. If she isn't already, that is. I'm pretty sure it's not too late. You'll see it will work out in the end. " He advised his son as he turned around towards the door.

Adrien was trying to process this whole conversation as he stared at his father's back. Gabriel stopped by the door, cocked his head to the side, with a smirk on his face." Good luck. " And with that, he exited the room, shutting the door behind him.

Adrien frowned at the closed door, recalling his father's words.

"It seems like she did that to make you jealous. And I can see it worked."

Marinette trying to get him jealous? That doesn't sound like her. But his father is right. Maybe it's not too late. He has to step up his game a bit.

Get closer to her.

It's the little things.

I know Gabriel isn't normally this caring in the show, which is sad, but a change is never bad, ye? ;) Till next time!
