Walking into the apartment, Alexander groaned, kicking off her muddy shoes.
"Sorry about the mess."
"It's cool." Asenath waved her off.
The small living room was filled with packed boxes and takeout containers.
"We're just packing up everything to give to goodwill," Alexander said.
Asenath nodded, wandering around looking at everything.
"Is this your mom?" Asenath pointed at the picture on the shelves.
"Yeah." Alexander throws herself on the sofa.
"And your dad?"
Alexander looked exactly like her father, Asenath looked from the picture at Alexander then back at the picture, she was in shock.
Alexander took her father's entire face. They were the spitting image, Alexander had everything for the man but only had her mother's green eyes.
"Do you mind if I ask how your mom died? She was really beautiful."
Alexander walked over to her, looking at the pictures.
"It's cool, she got a tear from the inside from giving birth, the baby slide out too quickly. Her cervix came out, and they just put it back in and stitch her up. Seems like she was having terrible cramps and was bleeding. She went to the hospital and fainted they rushed her to surgery when they undid the stitches. It fell back out with a lot of blood she was bleeding from the inside." Alexander picked up the frame.
"She bled out, funniest thing is, just last month I saved someone from something exactly like that. She died from something I could've prevented." Alexander chuckled bitterly.
"I'm sorry for your lost Alex.". Asenath pouted at her.
"It's whatever." Alexander placed the frame face down, walking back over to the sofa.
Asenath continues to look around, "But it's the hospital's fault, right? They did a half-ass job."
"Yeah, and I don't want to drag myself through the process of the court."
"Understandable. How are you feeling still hangover?" Asenath looked over at her.
"No, I'm good the food helped." Alexander sighed.
"I'm glad it did." Asenath continues looking around.
"I just have a slight headache, I guess that's what my ass gets for drinking."
"Are you sad? Is that why you drink?" Asenath blurted out.
