1. Please Don't Go

Childe is the oldest prince, and Zhongli is the only child of the noble Morax family of that kingdom. Childe and Zhongli grew up together in the palace. They were both taught by the royal tutors, and they spent almost all their waking moments with each other. Childe found his passion in hunting and arrow shooting, and Zhongli found his passion is history and medicine. But the difference in interest did not drive these two apart, instead it made the two get even closer than before. Zhongli would go on hunts with Childe and admire him with gentle eyes, and Childe would sit in the royal library with Zhongli and listen to him talking about the world in his understanding. This is why sometimes Childe calls Zhongli "sensei". One could argue that the pair fell for each other at a young age, before they knew what love means.

When Childe was 11 years old and Zhongli was 18, Zhongli told Childe that he was going to go to a far away place to study. Childe was crying and asking Zhongli to stay instead of leaving him. But Zhongli tells Childe that he has to go, and promises that after 10 years he will come back and be with him.

(Their parting scene) 
Childe: *sobs* Sensei, why do you have to go? Does father have anything to do with this? Why does he want to separate us so badly?

Zhongli: *smiles* Hey, don't cry. Your majesty didn't do anything, this is simply something I need to do. I promise that I will come back for you.

Childe: *still sobbing* How long will you be gone?

Zhongli: *pats Childe's head* 10 years. After 10 years I will come back, and I'll stay with you until you want me to leave.

Childe: I would never want you to leave!

Zhongli: I know. *sigh* 10 years is long, and I will miss you every second of the day.
