We see Peter resting in the apartment. He gets a call from Doctor Connors, who tells him that the symbiote sample he gave him years ago gave out an offspring & died. Now the offspring is nowhere to be seen & the lab is ruined. He tells him to come to the lab immediately.
Peter, as Spider-Man, goes to Connors' lab. We see Connors & Ted Sallis there, tensed. They talk about what to do. Spider-Man tells him that the symbiote must have bonded to serial killer Cletus Cassidy because he saw Cassidy having a symbiote with him. Connors says "the symbiote doesn't have a problem with high pitched sounds, unlike the black one." Spider-Man is now 100% sure that Cassidy has the offspring symbiote. But it's still vulnerable to fire. Sallis tells them that they should make a bomb to kill the symbiote. They agree.
