"So, I'm guessing your favorite animals are pandas." The boy to my left drew my attention from the horse. "U-uh, yea," I stuttered. Damn it, why am I stuttering? I slapped myself. "What the hell are you doing," he asked with what seemed like curiosity. I flushed in embarrassment. "N-nothing." He grunted and turned back to his book. After a moment I asked, "Whattchya readin'," "A book." "Well yeah, but what book?" "Why do you care," he shot back. Annoyed, I grabbed the book out of his hands. Probably not the best idea, yeah, but he's being difficult.
I put my finger on the page he was on so I wouldn't loose his spot. I began to flip through the pages. He reached for the book, but I pulled it away first. I turned in my seat so he couldn't reach me. "What the hell kind of book is this? Where are the pictures!?" I asked, dumbfounded, still flipping through the book. "An adult book, you moron. What are you, seven?" He reached for the book again, but I stretched my arms out. "I'll have you know I happen to be seventeen. Eighteen in June." He grunted in annoyance. Finally I got to the back of the book. "A hot fanta-," I started to read a praise on the back aloud. Levi's hand darted faster than I could react and tore the book from my grip. I stared at him, confused from both the book and his actions.
I swear to Freckled Jesus there was a pink tint to his usually pale skin that was just barely noticeable. He gave me a hard stare before bringing it down to his book. Mumbling something under his breath, he swung his backpack onto his lap and placed the book inside. Placing his bag down he said, "Don't touch my shit, Jaegar." He didn't bother looking up, though you could practically hear the death stare he would be giving me.
"H-hey Levi-," I was cut off by the shrill of the PA system, which was followed by the end-of-the-day announcements. Shit, I forgot this was eighth period. Levi put on his bag and was out the door by the time I had stood up. Standing awkwardly with my mouth open, mid-sentence, I played it off with a yawn. The inaudible chatter of my other classmates and zipping of backpacks along with the sound the door knob made when you turned it surrounded me. Sighing, I pushed the desk I was sitting at back to its place in the row beside me. I bent down to pick up my bag. When I did so, I noticed something under Levi's desk. Curiosity took the best of me and I reached out for it.
"Eren, what are you still doing here?" Mr. Jankins called from his desk. Startled by the sudden realization of his presence, I shot up from the ground, hitting my hand on the metal basket under the desk that held textbooks and stuff. Clenching my jaw in pain, I made out, "Oh, sorry..," I nodded a goodbye and put one arm in the strap of my backpack. As I walked to the other side of Levi's desk, I quickly picked up the item. It seemed to be a notebook or some shit. I took notice that there was a name printed on the bottom corner. Taking a closer look, I saw it said "Levi".
