Chapter 5: News.

Three years later.

Last month i broke-up with Keith. It was a mutual break-up, we're still friends. But, last week Keith told me he was moving towns..Said his parents found a better job out of town. It's the first day without him with me. It's a bit lonely, but Darnell and Nene are still here.

Lately, Cassandra and the other goths/misfits have been acting...Weird. It's pretty nerve racking, though i'm sure it's fine.

Three weeks later.

Tankmans P.O.V
I was standing in the courtyard of the base talking with Steve and two other Tankmen.

"Oh yeah, i'm lucky my kids are sick and aren't at school. I got some news from my radio earlier.", he/Tankman 1 says. "Oh really? What was it?", Steve asks. "Well, [redacted], the school my kids go too, just got reports of being shot up, from the sounds of it, it's probably still going on."

Everything feels like it's crashing around me. That's the school Pico goes too. My face pales as i shake slightly.

"[redacted]?", i ask shakily. "Capt'n are you okay?", Steve asks worried. "Yeah. Why?", Tankman 1 confirms.

Fuck. Shit. I run out the gate. "CAPT'N?!", Steve shouts. I keep running and running towards the school.

20 minutes later.

My legs hurt but i HAVE to make sure Pico is okay. I see the school in the distance, there's smoke coming out of it, and cops are surrounding the place.

I run over and see Pico and Nene being taken out by two cops. I barge through the cops and run over. "Pico! Pico oh my god i'm so sorry i only just heard! Are you okay?", i ask panicked. Nene walks away with a cop. And the other cop goes back in the school, leaving me with Pico.

"...They're all dead.", Pico says. He seems shocked, he's covered in blood, and tear tracks stain his pale face. I get down on my knees and hug him tightly. Pico shakily drops the gun he was holding, and hugs me back tightly. "I-I had to kill them..", he quietly whispers. "Cassandra...Hanzou....Cyclops...They're all dead because i-i had too!", he sobs.

"Shh...It's okay. Daddy's here. All that matters is that you're safe. You're so brave, Pico. I'm proud of you...Let's go home, okay?", i reassure him. "o-okay..", he responds.
