The sun beamed into the dusty room casing all the little floating dust particles to look like small sun stars. Even though the room was dusty and old, it was not yet abandoned by its owner who laid lazily in her bed.
She hadn't moved for hours, believing that if she kept staring at her cobwebbed ceiling she would eventually fall asleep. Though she had high hopes for this technique, it didn't work what so ever as she hadn't fallen asleep at all and had stayed up the whole night. She felt eye bags as heavy as sandbags hanging from her face and groaned in disappointment.
As she lay in her unkept bed she heard a small tapping at the door. "Y/n-I-I mean your majesty" came a soft shaky yet familiar voice from behind the door. "It's time for you to get up, it's a very special day after all" said the voice, sounding a little more disappointed then it should be at the days events. She had assumed that the voice belonged to her royal assistant, and basically only friend, Ganyu. Ganyu was always a sweetheart and always helped the royal family but she would never take time for herself. Most of the time Y/n would have to force her to sleep, saying that it was an order.
Even though Ganyu was the princesses favourite person ever, she didn't make any effort to get out of bed quickly. All she did was listen to the singing birds and the crashing of the ocean waves. She dreaded this day for many years but knew it was inevitable. She thought that she could avoid it if she never came out of her room to see anyone ever again. So there she laid. Looking at her ceiling, listening to the birds and the waves when a sudden pain of hungry stuck her.
"Seriously..." she mumbled softly to herself. She rolled over on her side grumbling to herself. "Fine, then I'll just starve to death. That way I'll never have to deal with another stupid problem again" she said sounding satisfied with her statement. Moments went by of her just listening to her growling stomach and she gave up, slowly sitting up and crawling out of bed. She walked over to the mirror to see her hair a tattered mess on her head and she smiled at herself. "Hehe nice" she said quietly to herself. She didn't really care what she looked like even though her father always told her she should.
Walking away from the mirror to her bedroom door, she slipped on a small pair of fuzzy yet matted slippers since she often found the floor outside her room was quite cold. Opening her door she was surprised to see Ganyu getting ready to knock once again. Looking a little embarrassed, Ganyus face turned a small shad of pink while she profusely apologized. "It's fine Yu, I've known you long enough it doesn't matter when this kinda stuff happens" said Y/n laughing a bit at Ganyus reaction.
"Yes I know but still, I don't want to be a bother" she says sheepishly looking down at the floor embarrassed. Smiling at her caring friend, the princess placed her hand on Ganyus shoulder, causing the blue haired sweetheart to look up. "Hey don't worry, you know you can let your guard down around me and be yourself" she said softly causing Ganyu to smile a bit. "Alrighty! Let's get some breakfast!" said the princess excitedly, clapping her hands together. "Yes" replied Ganyu with a enthusiastic tone.
Rushing down the stairs and almost tripping down them a few times, the two made their way to the massive dining room. As they burst through they noticed that nobody was there. The chairs we scattered and the tables were missing. "Guess they must be preparing for the days events" said Ganyu in a somber tone. Damn it. Spending time with Ganyu caused Y/n to completely forget about what was going on today. Looking around curiously, Y/n checked to make sure no body was around to spot or hear them. The coast seemed clear. The princess started speed walking to the left, which was the direction of the kitchen. "Y/n! What are you doing?" whispered Ganyu in a yelling manner at her mischievous friend. "Getting breakfast obviously" said Y/n with a cheeky smile. Ganyu had mixed feelings about this. She didn't want Y/n to get in trouble but then again, Ganyu herself was also starving and desperately wanted something to eat. With a small huff she gave in and followed the royal pain in the ass she calls her friend.
