Victoria...
Soo, it's been one day since I've gone to visit Charles, and half a day since Ethan wished me goodnight.
Yeah, the days arent getting any easier. Or faster.
I'm sitting at the kitchen table, ya know, eating my breakfast. I was lucky enough to be the first one up. That means I can have whatever I want!
...I chose fruit loops.
Not that exciting, but I'll take anything over egg. We've been having it for too long now, I dont think I like it anymore.
"Early riser?" I heard a deep chuckle from beside me.
It was David.
Hmmmmmm... is this my chance to establish some type if bond?
"Not the only one, it seems." I said, stuffing more loops in my mouth.
"Coffee?" He asks as he pours himself some.
"I'm allowed to?" I asked.
He frowned, but only for a moment. Then he gave me a mug.
"Its not what you think. In the Cafe I used to work at, we had to pay if we wanted anything." I said, getting up from the table and making myself some. I added more creamer than sugar.
"Right, I forgot about that." He says, "tell me, how does a twelve year old girl get a job at a Cafe?"
"What, did you have a different job at twelve?" I chuckled lightly, but stopped when I saw him tense. "I needed the money. And the Cafe didn't seem to care about age, just money."
He hummed and nodded, taking another sip. As did I.
"...Hey, David?" He tilted his head. "Is there a reason you don't talk to me?"
The room went quiet, as I stood trying to figure out if he was thinking or stalling. Or both.
"It's not you, if that's what your wondering." He finally said. "I guess I'm trying to do what you said, but by myself. Away from you. Because of how...." he decided not to finish his sentence, "but I see it's clearly not working."
"Do you think, that if we get to know eachother... will it help?" I stepped closer to him, trying not to make it obvious. "Or can I just get to know you?"
I heard him chuckle deeply next to me, making my head heat up.
"Your not so sublte." He eased up.
"Yeah. Can we still talk?" I beamed, hopefully.
The room went quiet once again, but I'm pretty sure David was thinking about his answer.
"...Sure. Why not?"
I smiled and took a seat next to him on the table.
I folded my hands on top and straightened up. I dont know why, but I felt like acting all important or something. Maybe this was just important to me.
"So, I'll go first. Would you like to get a pet? If so, what animal?"
"I've always wanted a dog. A husky, there cool." He gazed off, "my turn. What was your school life?"
"Well, it's like any other kids. Its, normal." I looked down at my mug and drank the hot drink.
"I thought we were going to be honest here." He said in a half playful tone. "Was it not the best?"
I shook my head in agreement.
"But that was before. I'm here now, and it's summer - oh!" I slammed my hand on the table, kind of startling David. "What are we going to do for summer?!"
