There was another path that crossed mine today.
I stopped when I came across it though, to have a drink from the stream next to it.
After that I returned to my cobble path, following it as it wound around trees and crossed over valleys.
As I found another ravine, a wound gaping across the ground, I stumbled as I was passing the bridge.
I swore as my foot got stuck on the old rope that held the cursed thing together, but the more I struggled, the more it got tangled.
I ended up having to cut myself out, and luckily the rope I was caught it wasn't the one holding the bridge together entirely.
But, since something always has to go wrong, when I was standing up my knife made a rather large gash on my ankle.
So, today was going great.
As I wobbled along, I searched for some kind of plant or something to cover up my wound.
I was not searching for two apparently silent children, but life loves to throw all kinds of stuff in my face, doesn't it?
A hand made contact with my shoulder and I swung around instinctively and I felt my fist connect with someone's nose.
"Holy shit, what was that for?" I looked down to see two kids in front of me, a tall blonde standing awkwardly beside a shorter brunette on the ground with a steady trickle of blood coming from his nose.
"Oopsies." I said, shrugging.
I turned on my heel and was about to continue walking when I heard the other one speak.
"What happened to your ear?"
The other one chimed in, "Yeah, it looks really fucking weird."
I reached up to touch my ear, then realized what I was doing and continued to limp down the path, saying, "None of your business."
"Do you need help?" I heard the brunette call out. Man, can these kids just fuck off? But in all honesty, I probably did need some help. So I sighed and turned around.
"Yeah, kind of."
"Wow, wasn't expecting that." The blonde said, but shut up as soon as I sent him a glare.
"Anyways, my name is Tubbo and this is Tommy!" The brown-haired boy said, gesturing to his companion.
"Asher. Also, where did you two come from?"
"Over there, dumbass." Tommy said, pointing to a path partially covered by ferns. I kicked him in the shin and he glared at me. He also seemed quite grumpy. Maybe it was because I was taller then him. He seemed like the kind of person that would be mad that he's shorter then someone.
"Here, follow me!" Tubbo said, turning and walking to the path. "I know someone who can help."
Skeptically, I followed, keeping an eye on my surroundings.
The trees turned from tall birch trees to shorter oak ones as we continued and as the sun started to set we passed a small stream, where I paused to grab a handful of berries.
I looked up to see the two kids staring at me, but I shrugged and kept walking.
Soon we came to a break in the trees, where a huge field sat, with many oddly-shaped and foreign buildings built around it, with wooden platforms winding about them.
I paused where the trees thinned and looked about before I felt someone nudge me. I whipped around with a growl to see Tommy, who had jumped back a bit when I reacted.
