Chapter 19

Dev got stunned looking at 10 lion cubs running towards Adya.. All of them greeted her enthusiastically jumping on her, Nudging her licking her etc... Few of them were able to reach her neck while standing on two legs..

Dev took few steps back when the biggest one was about to pounce on him..

Dev : my God.. what is this Adi??

Adya(confused looking at Dev's reaction) : Aapko kabhi Abhi uncle ne bataya nahi kya??

Dev (moving towards Adya while keeping his eye on the cub): Bataya tha but it's still overwhelming.... I mean if cubs are 10 in number then I'm wondering about number of Elder lions and lionesses... And the recent king... Won't he be mad at me for entering his lair and who is the recent king?? What's his name??

Dev asked getting slightly excited..

Adya (sadly): There's no king now D.. Actually I don't know what is going on with pride..

Dev (confused) : what do you mean?

Adya(looking at Dev with serious expressions) : I mean that after Simba his pride mates just disappeared year after year..

Dev(stunned) : disappeared!!!

Adya (looking thoughtful) : haan.. Pehle Simba.. phir unke pride mates.. I still remember ye tab ki baat hai jab Chote ka janam hua tha kuch bohot bada hua tha hamari family mein.. Aur uske baad se Simba ki tabiyat kharab rehne lagi aur hamari visits yahan kam ho gayi.. And then suddenly Simba kahin chala gaya and never returned.. He just vanished.. Dada aur Dad ne bohot dhoondha but kuch pata nahi chala.. and then ek ek karke unke baaki ke pride mates bhi aise hi kahin chale gaye.. When ever one of them fell sick it just disappeared after few days... Jo cubs the vo reh gaye the joki jaise hi 15 - 16 age ke hoke ya to marr jaate hain ya phir kahin chale jaate hain.. pichle kuch saalon se sirf do hi adult lion and lioness bache the but last month with in 1 week vo dono ki death ho gayi.. Now these cubs are left only..

Dev (frowning) : This is really strange.. Kya uncle ko kabhi pata nahi chala ki vo sab kahan gaye?? I mean kahin kisi ne unka shikaar to nahi I mean...

Adya (shaking her head): Nahi kyunki Dev Garh aur yahan ke aas paas me sabhi Rajyon mein hunting illegal hai.. And Moreover this area is very protected no one can enter here without getting detected.. what happened yo them is quite a mystery.. But forget all this.. let's leave.. Hum ab better feel kar rahe hain.. Aur hamein baba saa se baat karni hai kuch..

Dev nodded his head and they both left from there after giving last glance towards the cubs who were busy among themselves now.....

Adya directly went to her parents room where she found Rajveer alone doing something in his laptop... She entered the room after knocking the door..

Rajveer looked up from his laptop to find her standing at his door.. He opened his arm and gestured her to come closer..

Adya ran towards him and sat beside him hugging him tightly...

Rajveer wrapped his arms around his daughter calming her down by hugging her close... He knew that she'll come to talk her heart out when she'll calm down.. He just gave her some space so that she could sort her feelings out..

Adya (apologetically) : Sorry Dada.. humein aapse vaise baat nahi karni chahiye thi.. Hum us ladke se milne ke liye taiyar hain lekin sirf isliye ki aapne commitment di hai ki hum unse milenge.. lekin hum unse shaadi ke liye taiyar nahi hain..

Rajveer cupped her face between his palms and looked at her with proud smile..

Rajveer : it's ok my princess.. Koi zaroorat nahi hai kisi se milne ki aur maine koi commitment nahi ki hai.. Mere liye meri beti ki khushi zada matter karti hai.. so no need for this.. ok..
