On the 13th day of December of the year 1989 in Reading,Pennsylvania, a lovely baby girl was born and is named Taylor Alison Swift.
Currently, she is 25 years old and one of the world's brightest superstar. Furthermore, she is a singer-songwriter, a business woman, a philanthropist, and an inspiration. But how did this blonde, blue-eyed american girl get this so far? Here's her story...
Taylor spent most of her childhood in their family's eleven acre Christmas tree farm in Montgomery Country,Pennsylvania. When she was 9 years old, their family moved to Wyomissing,Pennsylvania where she attended West Reading Elementary Center and Wyomissing Area Junior/Senior High School. Her first hobby was english horse riding. At the same age, Taylor turned her attention to musical theatre and performed in Berks Youth Theatre Academy productions of Grease, Annie, Bye Bye Birdie, and The Sound of Music. She traveled regularly to Broadway,New York for vocal and acting lessons. However, after a few years of auditioning in New York and not getting anything, she became interested in country music. This interest isolated her from her middle school peers.
At the age of 12, a computer repairman shown her how to play three chords on a guitar. She then wrote her first song "Lucky You" during the night of that day. She had previously won a national poetry contest with a piece entitled "Monster In My Closet" but still began to focus on song-writing.
At the age of 14, Taylor moved to Nashville having secured an artist development deal with RCA Records. Taylor abandoned RCA when she was 15 because the company wanted her to record the work of other song-writers but Taylor felt ready to launch her career with her own material.
In 2005, Taylor caught the attention of Scott Borchetta, a Dreamworks Records executive who was preparing to form his own independent record label; Big Machine Records, at an industry's showcase at Nashville's The Bluebird Cafe. She was one of the new label's first signings.
At the age of 16, Taylor released her first album entitled "Taylor Swift" on October 2006. It has received generally positive reviews from music critics. The album sold 39,000 copies in it's first week. In November 2008, she released her second album "Fearless". Later, she was nominated and won various awards for it including the music industry's highest honor; the GRAMMY's award for Album of the Year. In October 2010, she released her third album "Speak Now" which sold about 1,000,000 copies in it's first week. Her fourth album "Red" also sold 1,000,000 copies in it's first week that was released October 2012. Her fifth album "1989", which was released October of 2014, also sold more than 1,000,000 copies in it's first week.
It could be clearly seen that perseverance was what sent Taylor to what is she now. However, despite of all her success, she retains her foot on the ground. And that makes her loved by her swifties. That makes me love her but that's another story yet to be untold.
