~Caleb~
"Bye, see you all tomorrow." The teacher, dismisses us.
I let everyone leave before I stand up, throwing my backpack over my shoulder as I do, and walk out of school.
I reach for the door handle of my car, stopping halfway when I feel a ligt tap on my shoulder. "I thought you were meeting me at my car?" A soft voice spoke from behind me. Confused I turn around coming and look down at Paisley who only meets my chest.
She was serious? She actually wanted me to meet her?
"You're taller than i thought you were." Paisley says causing me to lightly chuckle while shaking my head. "No but seriously, you look like you're around 6'3." I nod my head. She guessed spot on.
"Wow, anyways, come on we're going to my house, to do the project." She says turning around and wakling to what I assume is her car. I sigh before following her. I have a feeling this isn't going to end well.
My eyes widen as I take in her car.
A black jeep cj-5.
My dream car.
"It was my grandpa's." Paisley pauses before adding. "The car, I mean." I nod at her surpressing a smile. "Will you ever talk to me?" She asks. I think about it for a minute before nodding. I will have to for the project.
Walking to the drivers side I open the door for her. A gentlemen will always open the door.
There's that show-stopping smile. "Thank you."
I look out into the side mirror watching the school get smaller until we turn a corner and it disapears completely.
-------------------------------
"Well this is it." Paisley says after around 10 minutes of driving. I look up to see a two story house with windows covering almost an entire wall and a flower path to the door. This house is nice.
"Mom, I'm home. I have a friend with me, we need to work on a class project." She yells walking into the kitchen where we are greeted by an older version of Paisley, who I assume to be her mother.
Friend. I haven't had one of those in a long time.
"Hey sweetie!" Paisley's mom says pulling her into a hug, realising her a minute later with a kiss on the cheek. She then turns her attention to me, extending her hand to me. "Hey dear, I'm Laura."
"Caleb." I say shaking her hand. Looking over at Paisley I can see awe in her eyes.
"I think that's the first time I ever heard you talk." She says. Her mom's sends her a look of confusion causing her to elaborate. "Caleb doesn't usually talk at school."
"Why not?" Her mom asks. I don't like when people ask questions.
"Never need to." I answer blandly. She looks at me sad.
"I hope that changes dear." I wish it would change.
"Anyways, we are going to my room to answer the questions for the project." Paisley says, waving the paper around.
"Okay, dinner will be ready in a hour." Her mom answers. Paisley simply nods before motioning me to follow her.
Band posters.
