then an Edenian was fast-forwarding the whole 2011 story with his friend

Skarlet: uh....Rain? what're you doing?
Rain: i'm fast-forwarding to the part where we come in.
Skarlet: but you can't go out of order!
Rain: Au contraire, my bloodlust pal. i've got the remote.
Skarlet: but everyone's gonna get confused! (she grabs a second remote) we gotta go back to the beginning of the story. (she begins rewinding the game)
Rain: we're not in the beginning of the story! {she pauses the game on Sub-Zero getting captured by the cyber-initiative, with a monkey screech; the game begins fast-forwarding again}
Skarlet: yes, we were. the whole time! {rewinds; the game reverses on a shot of Raiden looking in bewilderment at his amulet breaking, with a squawk of confusion}
Rain: But they don't know that! {indicates the readers; switches the game direction again, on Shao Kahn killing Kung Lao, with a lion-roar sound}
Skarlet: then why don't we tell them our story? (pauses the game on a snarling close-up of the Freddy Krueger, panicking both Rain and Skarlet)
