Jasmine was a princess who wanted more freedom
She was expected to marry a prince, but she would rather not marry at all
One night, a village girl on a magic carpet flew up to her window
Jasmine stared at her, and the girl looked startled
"Why are you awake at this time, Your Highness?"
Jasmine had been having trouble sleeping
She asked what the girl was doing there, and she explained that there were bad men trying to hurt Jasmine
She had been watching at her window every night to protect her
Jasmine was worried about the girl, and she asked many questions
"Aren't you cold?"
"Do you have food?"
"Don't you get tired?"
But every time the girl gave the same answer
"Your safety is far more important"
Jasmine invited the girl in, but she refused, saying it wouldn't be right
So every night, Jasmine would stay at her window and talk to the girl
Her father wondered why she would always be so tired throughout the day
One night, the girl didn't come
Jasmine was very concerned and snuck out of her house to find her
She discovered that the girl had gotten mixed up with an evil man trying to steal a magic lamp
She helped the girl uncover the magic lamp and wished the genie free
They didn't want anything, so they didn't wish for anything else
The genie was very thankful and promised he wouldn't forget their kindness
Years later, Jasmine was being forced to marry a prince from a nearby kingdom
By this point, she and the girl were in love, and she didn't want to marry the prince even more than ever before
Right when they thought all hope was lost, the genie appeared and told Jasmine's father that Jasmine should have the right to love who she so choosed
Jasmine's father agreed and Jasmine and the girl lived happily ever after
