-A couple months later in this story-

Another round of those morning sunbeams came piercing through the glossy windows of (Y/n)'s bedroom. Bright and peppy as they were, (Y/n) still groaned. As annoyed and tired as she was, she still threw her (f/c) comforter off of herself and slid off her bed. Feet thudding on the floor, she did her usual morning routine, thinking that today wasn't out of the ordinary, but was she ever so wrong. Many things had happened to (Y/n) these past months, she defeated Ace, went sledding with Nightmare, he went and talked with Dream, and the Star Sanses agreeing to leave (Y/n) as she is. Life proceeded as normal for (Y/n), but Nightmare, on the other hand, had bigger plans than just his natural routine of life. And those plans are very clear to you, dear reader, because it's quite obvious what's going to happen since the author already blurted out an obvious hint. But, that's besides the point, I think we should go a little later in the day and have a look at what Nightmare is in the process of doing, shall we?

Nightmare rushed around his room, it was now 4:38 pm, and he needed to get things prepared. He was planning to pop the big question to you tonight, he had it all planned, a fancy dinner and then he would take you to OuterTale where there was a garden. He would light candles in that very garden and get down on one knee, it was the perfect plan, but as of right now, he was in his bedroom in panic. "C'mon, I can't lose it! I know it has to be here somewhere! But where?!" Nightmare said, rushing around and lifting every object in sight. Panic set in as he held his skull and gritted his teeth, he didn't do too well with pressure such as this. But, a knock on the door snapped him out of his craze and he looked towards the door frame to see Cross leaning on it. "You really lost the ring? C'mon Boss, you can't lose the ring," Cross said, giving Nightmare a disappointed look, and Nightmare sneered at his words. The engagement ring Nightmare had picked out had a black diamond cut to look like a moon, and the actual wedding ring (that will be fused with the engagement ring presuming that she says yes) had a diamond as well, but white and shaped like a sun. He knew it was perfect in every way for you, so naturally he got it right as he saw it with his eye. "I know, I know. Shut up and help me find it!" Nightmare said, and Cross shrugged, "You're lucky I ship you guys too much..." Cross mumbled, but Nightmare shot him a look that said 'snap shut or I will end you'. Cross then helped Nightmare look and he opened drawers, cabinets, and then the closet, which he stumbled upon Nightmare's outfit for the special night. "Woah, that's a handsome outfit Boss," he said, wriggling his bone-brows, "It's a very special occasion, now keep looking." Nightmare snapped back, still rummaging through things here and there, and Cross shrugged, now looking at the pocket of the coat of the outfit. "Hmm I wonder..." Cross mumbled, reaching into the pocket and his phalanges brushed against a familiar small box. "Found it Boss!" Cross said and smiled, pulling the small velvet case and handing it to Nightmare. "Oh thank goodness," Nightmare sighed in relief, holding the ring case close to his chest as if it were going to pop out of his phalanges and run away. "Thank you Cross, you can take today off. I've sent the others away though, so go out and do something, it doesn't matter to me." Nightmare said, placing the small box in his pocket. Cross grinned and thanked Nightmare, teleporting away and wishing him luck.

Nightmare then went down to your bedroom and knocked lightly on your wooden door. "Are you in there (Y/n)?" questioned Nightmare, "I would like to speak with you about something." Waiting for a response, Nightmare tilt his head towards the door incase you were taking a nap. He heard shuffling for a moment and then the door opened and revealed your slightly dirty self. "Ah, you had me worried for a moment there, my dear." Nightmare said, and (Y/n) smiled back in response, "Sorry, I was trying to clean up my room a bit so unfortunately it took me a second to get to the door," (Y/n) said, patting her skirt down, "Now, what was it that you wanted to tell me?" Tilting her head slightly, (Y/n) waited for Nightmare's response patiently. Nightmare cleared his throat and handed some fabric to (Y/n), grinning he gave his answer. "We're going somewhere special tonight, so I request that you put on this dress, it's fancy but not too overwhelming for you. Now, please get yourself ready, I will come to fetch you in a half of an hour." Nightmare said, and (Y/n) nodded to his request, holding the dress he gave her on her arm. "Alright, see you then I suppose." (Y/n) smiled and closed the door when Nightmare left satisfied with her answer, everything was going well so far for him. Locking the door behind her, (Y/n) unfolded the dress she held and took a look at it. It was a very dark purple, almost black, and the skirt of the dress lifted slightly in the front to allow walking to be tripping-free, there were no sleeves, only a ruffle of fabric on both side of the shoulders. It remained strapless and allowed the back to show slightly. The skirt looked like it would slightly hug the hip area, and it sparkled ever so slightly a purple shine.
