...
Ever since the day you had waken up after being ruthlessly slaughtered, Demyx had been tortured. He remembered seeing you alive and, when rushing over to hug you, you had given him an odd look and shoved him away. You hadn't said a word to him, but he already knew.
You didn't remember a single thing about him or your past life.
He watched from a distance as Saïx guided you around the castle, him only following safely behind so Saïx would not threaten his life like the many times he had already done. Demyx now watched you as you looked around the room. The room had white walls on the far left, a big, gaping square entrance that led straight to the bedrooms. The room also had couches and tables to offer, along with a large window to look out upon the miserable and dark city that lay ahead of this castle. He watched as your (e/c) eyes flicked around the area. His heart stopped when they landed on him, but they truly paid no mind to his existance.
Out of all the people he would have least likely imagined would treat him like a nobody, you sure did come with a bunch of surprises.
Not that you remembered your past or anything, not at all. Demyx just looked out of the window, but listened onto what his superior, Saïx, had to say.
"And this is the Gray Area. We usually assign missions or reconnaissances here."Demyx turned around, seeing your zombie-like eyes screw up at such a long word. He could empathize, because he had no earthly clue what it meant when he joined, either.
"Recons. It's where you basically scope things out and find out more about the area. They're usually very boring, but I usually had fun when I had to scope out one place because yo-"Saïx swiftly interrupted him, "You speak when I allow you to speak, Number Nine. Nobody wants to hear about your experiences, as we all have the same ones." And with that, he began to make his leave. Before he left, though, he turned to (Y/N) and glared.
"Oh and, the Superior wants to see you soon. Nothing wrong, he just wants to check up on you." And once more, he exited through the yawning, square entrance. Now that just left you two alone. Demyx would be lying if he said this wasn't torture more than it was fun. Usually, he would love to be around you! His heart would always soar with excitement when he had the chance to sneak off to Twilight Town. When the others would ask him why he did it, he would always make up some excuses. For a while, some believed he loved "recon". Others were skeptical.
Now he sat here, with you. Under different circumstances that he would have never wished upon you. You sat on the opposite couch on the opposite side of the room. Demyx took this chance to get up swiftly, swaggering over to your dumbfounded state as he sat down on the couch in front of you.
A look of silent confusion passed over you as your vision of the outer world was blocked by Demyx. Demyx could see your confusion, but decided to play it off.
"Man, this castle stuff is kinda boring if you think about it!" He smiled. He was trying to make conversation, to try to see if there was still even the *tiniest* sliver of humanity in those dull (e/c) eyes."..."
You didn't respond. Demyx went from a closed-eyed smile to a soft frown, his hand rubbing the back of his head.
"Not much of a talker, are you?" He laughed nervously. His heart dropped as you didn't respond either.
So (Y/N) really WAS a Nobody now.Demyx felt his stomach, or what could be considered such, churn, but he tried to just shrug it off.
"I'm sure you'll come around. When I was first a Nobody, I developed my senses pretty quickly. It's different for everyone, especially when you consider why you did it and what for." He explained, at least trying to comfort her. Was he comforting her? Could he really call it that? He felt more human than she did at this moment.
And through all his days existing as a nobody, he never thought that he and a once-human would switch roles.
'Why did you have to sacrifice yourself so selfishly?!'
He thought.
