Chiyo had a few minutes before class, walking through the hallways that led to different classrooms as she was trying to find her friend Mayumi, talking to Kiyoshi or one of the boys wasn't an option at the moment and searching for Y/N would cause the wrath of her older sister.

"Chiyo? I've been looking for you."

Chiyo stopped in her tracks and slowly turned around, not being in the mood for another one of her sister's talks.

Hoping it would be someone else calling for her, her hope was shattered when the person standing before her was Mari.

"Is something wrong, Mari?" Chiyo respectfully said, hoping it wouldn't be something other than a quick conversation so both could be on their way.

"We haven't talked in days." Mari pointed out. "I was just making sure you were fine."

"I'm fine." Before she could argue, Chiyo was already walking with her, not by choice but rather her older sister grabbing her by the arm and taking her for another one of her famous speeches.

"I'm glad." Mari shortly replied. "After those... Boys came to our school I was very worried about you."

"I can take care of myself, Mari." Although Chiyo was beginning to feel annoyed, she kept herself calm and not betraying her emotions.

"Dealing with men is different, they can trick you into believing they're trustworthy, then they'll use you for their perverted, shameless desires."
Mari was still furious that out of all people Y/N L/N was the one to tell her Chiyo had talked to one of the five new boys and at the same time it pained her Chiyo hadn't told her.

"I'll make sure to consider that advice... For the hundredth time." although calm, Chiyo's words made Mari change her impeccable stoic face to a slight raise of her brow and pursed lips.

"Perhaps if you listened to me, Chiyo, we wouldn't be having this conversation." Mari retorted, for years now her constant warnings had fallen on deaf ears, every time Chiyo made a new male friend, Mari was forced to put an end to it.

"When was the last time we had a real conversation, sister?" Chiyo folded her arms and looked outside the window. "I think it was when I was nine, back then you actually cared about something else than throwing baseless accusations at my friends, You know, before your hatred of men became your only defining trait."

Mari's jaw clenched and mustered all her wits to calm herself down." You move your mouth to talk, yet those are L/N's words." Mari felt her blood boil at the clear manipulation of that snake.

Chiyo let out a mirthless chuckle, something completely out of character from her. "I was wondering when you'd bring him into the conversation."

"Why wouldn't I?" Mari immediately replied. "Many times I have warned you of that snake, he isn't your friend, he's dangerous and a fraud, yet you insist on talking to him, he isn't your friend!"

"And you as well, insist on damaging his reputation, after you almost got him expelled from school after Maria Bushida accused him of something he didn't commit." Chiyo defended her male best friend as best as she could, knowing she had plenty of facts to dismiss any of Mari's assumptions of him based on their intense rivalry.

Mari looked away angrily, still maintaining herself composed and enduring her little sister's foolishness.
"Stay away from men, I won't say it again."

"What will you do Mari? Throw me into the school prison? Suspend me?"
Chiyo challenged, not backing down from her sister, the perfect, superior woman many people in her life always compared her to, making her Mari's shadow, except Mayumi and Y/N, and her sister would never understand Chiyo's friendship with the latter.
