•••Some people think that silence is soothing or comforting.
The silence that was all around me in this car with Vincenzo, was not soothing nor comforting.
It was awkward and strange. The lack of noise was almost drowning me.
But, since Vincenzo's little outburst, silence has been the only thing known in the car.
Deciding that because we still have a long ways to go-and Vincenzo was apparently not wanting to speak with me-I laid my head back and closed my eyes. Hoping that the silence would be put to some good use.
"Are you hungry" A deep voice startled me and made me almost jump out of my seat.
"What" I asked. I was to shocked in the moment to really understand what he had said.
'Way to go Mae now you sound stupid' My wolf said.
'I do not'
'Whatever' my wolf spoke an proceeded to shut me out. Again.
I don't usually talk with my wolf. She kinda shut me out after an incident that happened a year a go. It wasn't something that I did. She is just still upset about it.
I choose not to speak of it anymore now. It brings back to many bad memories. Memories of the past that did not need to be resurfaced and thought about.
"I said are you hungry. It's 12:00 we need to have lunch." An impatient growl brought me out of my thoughts.
"Um sure." I replied looking out the window to see if I liked any of the places to eat around here, only to be met with a view of trees. Lots and lots of trees. "So, where exactly are we going to eat? There doesn't look like there is anything but tree bark to munch on..." Trailing off at the end laughing to myself a bit. I am just too funny! 'Tree bark' Ha!
"There is an Arby's up a little further if you want that." He replied with no emotion.
Tough crowd.
"Sure. That be great! I love their curly fries!"
"Good." Vincenzo continued to focus on his driving only looking ahead.
And we're back to silence.

"Finally! I was starting to think that tree bark would be the only option." I said jumping out of the car only to have my knees go weak from the long term sitting I endured. I would've fallen, if it wasn't for someone catching me at the last moment.
"I didn't know standing was a problem for you. Maybe I'll have to carry from now on." A deep, husky voice coming from the person who caught me said.
'Yes!' My wolf shouted within me.
'Shut up and stop being so thirsty' I replied.
"Um, no need for that. If you'll just let me down now..." I squeaked awkwardly. Why must I have the worst social skills?
"That's to bad. I was really starting to like the feel of your butt." He smirked.
Even though this is the most emotion and words I've got from Vincenzo today still, what a perv!
"Um are you ready to go in" I looked down at my shoes suddenly turning shy. My cheeks must have been a bright shade of red.
"Yeah." Vince laughed. He must think that my embarrassment was funny. "Oh and Mae?"
"Yeah?" I questioned turning around to face him.
"Just remember. Your mine." Vince smirked.
Smiling faintly and turning back towards the door of the restaurant not bothering to reply. Again I looked down at my shoes trying to cover up the blush this was present on my cheeks.

Ordering took awhile.
"I'm going to go to the bathroom Mae. I'll be back."
"Okay" as soon as I said that he left for the bathroom.
Taking a bite of my sandwich. I almost moaned. This has got to be the best chicken sandwich of all time. I didn't notice until now that I was so hungry.
