I looked up to the sound of doors opening. The previous group trying out walked out of the building either smiling, looking confident, or looking beat up, as if they were about to cry. I felt bad for those looking discouraged, remembering the first time I tried out. But, at the same time, it also made me uneasy. I stood up from where I had been sitting on the ground with my legs crossed.
"Okay, numbers 11-15, you're up! Remember, do your best, and don't forget to smile! Don't be nervous, you've got this"" I drummed my fingertips nervously against my thighs as I watched the next group walk through the doors into the building being used for tryouts. I guess I'm next. Number 17.
I shouldn't be so scared about trying out (stan P1Harmony), I've been on the cheer team for the past 3 years. Plus, I've had advanced tumbling since I was eight years old. I can also be any position in a stunt team, I have a slim frame, but I also have the muscles to be a base or back-spot, if it's needed. I shouldn't be worried. I can definitely make it. I can do this. It'll be fine. It's okay.
Gosh, Jacob, it's not like your life is in mortal danger, you'll most likely live no matter what comes out of this. Just breathe, man, everything is going to be completely fine. Just calm down, something as small as cheer tryouts shouldn't be the cause of a freaking panic attack. Just go out there, do what your coaches taught you, and show those random people -I mean, judges- how drop-dead amazing you are at what you do. Remember, sharp motions, big smile, keep your chin up, point your toes during straight jumps. As if I could ever be straight-
And then, suddenly, I felt an unidentified hard force slam into the side of my head. Gosh, it hurt so insanely bad. The world started to spin, my legs began to feel like Jell-O, and a splitting headache burst into my brain. The world went dark. I don't know exactly what on Earth happened, but I do remember falling hard onto my knees, a shocking jolt shooting painfully through all two hundred and six of my bones. (Wow, I'm so educated) Well, I remember for sure the pain I felt.
