A very loud sound echoed across the alley. Subaru woke up and stood on her feet in seconds. It was the galloping of horses. Then a voice even louder than the horses was heard. "Find her! The demon is in our village! Kill her! Burn her!", yelled a man. Then a large group of people started shouting in the same manner. "They have such a healthy lifestyle waking up this early!", said the demon playfully. She was already awake. "Did she even sleep at all?", thought Subaru. The demon turned to her with a serious expression. "I'm Tokoyami Towa by the way. You don't need to remember this name. Nothing good will come out of it. Take this piece of paper. It has the address of a good school written on it. Just show the paper to someone and they will guide you to the right direction. I don't know why a duck turned into a human and I don't care. You don't have to live the life I live. I'm sure you'll be fine if you just learn how to communicate. You know...I was ready to give up yesterday before I met you. I was tired of running. Tired of the fear. Tired of the pain. But, you made me see a shimmer of light again. You were alone in an alley at night, all wet after the rain. But, you still smiled so bright I thought the night turned to day. I'll keep moving forward. I met you for just a tiny amount of time, but I think, no, I'm sure you'll be able to bring smiles to a lot of people in the future, something that I never...Anyway, I need to hurry. Here's the paper, did you understand what you need to do?". Subaru looked at the paper and then Towa with a confused expression on her face. Towa blushed, realising that she was just talking to herself just now. "This. Is. School. Show. Paper. To. Anyone.", said Towa slowly while pointing at the paper with her finger. Subaru nodded. Towa turned around. "Then, bye.", she said. She made one step and felt a light touch on her shoulder. "Towa! Thank you!", said Subaru loudly. Towa didn't turn around. She knew that if she did she wouldn't be able to escape her warmth. She knew that a demon would only put her in danger. "No. Thank you you stupid duck.", she whispered with a smile on her face. She started walking as fast as she could without saying anything else to her, until she was out of sight.
