Barriers Ch.1

 

A/N Hi everyone :)

I read a lot of books and I thought why not try to write a story. So I did. This is my first story ever and I don't expect it to brilliant but... oh well.

Enjoy and I hope you like it.

Barriers Chapter. 1

I knew this was end for me. I had been cornered by the evil captain and his men and made to kneel on my knees with a guard holding me in place. The captain stood above me, his gaze focused solely on me.

"You thought you could run but resistance is futile, you foolish girl" he said to me. I refused to let him get to me and gathering whatever strength I had left in me, I surged forward successfully head butting him on the chin. I smiled with satisfaction as his helmet flew off his head revealing his face.

Suddenly the room I was being held started to shake violently and the walls began to crumble I could hear a voice calling me "Rhee". I looked up and my eyes met the captains, I gasped in shock because the captain had the face of... a dog.

I woke up with a gasp. "Man I really need to stop having these dreams, I think I'm going crazy" I thought to myself.  "Finally, you're awake. I've been trying to wake you up for five minutes, you need to get ready for school" my mom said to me and with that she turned on her heels and walked out. I got out of bed and winced slightly when my bare feet touched the cold smooth floor.

I looked around me trying to remember where exactly I was because this room looked unfamiliar. The room I was standing in was massive and beautiful - In my opinion. The walls were painted a rich purple and had several black and white pictures of flowers hanging on them.

The floors were a dark mahogany and there was a huge zebra print rug in the middle. The bed I had been sleeping on was a queen sized bed with purple and black silk sheets.

I stood there for a few minutes just taking in my surroundings. I finally remembered where I was: I was standing in my new room. I left my room and walked to the bathroom.

I quickly brushed my teeth and spent a good twenty minutes in the shower just enjoying the hot water. Then I blow dried my hair straight and walked back to my room towards my wardrobe, did I mention that I had a walk-in-in wardrobe?

 I quickly put on my dark blue skinny jeans and put on a tight white tank top and wore my white and navy striped crop top over my tank and put on my red vans and finished off my outfit with red studs and a red bracelet. I put on some mascara and eye lined my eyes with black kohl to make my dark brown eyes stand out and put some clear lip gloss.

I stood back and looked in the mirror. I saw a pretty black girl with long straight & sleek black hair and a small cute round nose. Her lips were dark and full, her small almond shaped dark brown eyes sitting atop high, firm cheekbones staring back at me. I smiled at myself pleased with the end result. I grabbed my bag and headed downstairs.

"Rhianna Williams, how long does it take you to get ready? You're starting a new school today and it won't look good if you show up late". My mom's reminder of my new school immediately brought me out of my mellow mood.

"Where's dad?" I asked her in the hopes of changing the subject. "Your father's gone to work and I need to go soon too, now hurry up with your breakfast else you're going to be late". I looked down while sullenly eating my toast.

"I know you're not exactly happy about this move but it's for the best and your father's promotion came in at a good time, you know with you an-" I cut her off. "That's enough mom, I'm off to school" and with that I grabbed my car keys and left.

            I dashed my bag into the backseat of my black ford focus, a sixteenth birthday present from my dad. I backed out of the drive way and sped off to school, "I got a feeling"  by The Black Eyed Peas blasting out of my stereo.

I'd like to know what i can do to improve and if i should carry on
