"𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐘?" Midoriya stretched his limbs, waiting for his friend's response. Y/N nodded her head, pulling out her notebook.
The two had decided to move outside from fear there would be damage to the school. However now Midoriya had more room to move and control his quirk.
"Ready when you are!" Y/N called out.
Midoriya nodded and his veins began to glow red. Green lightning flashed around him as his hair flared up.
Y/N's eyes widened at her friends power. Sure she knew he was strong but this was insane. "Wow! That's amazing!" She began scribbling into her notebook, sketching down new ideas for his hero hero costume.
Midoriya began to wind down his quirk, a grin forming on his lips. "You really think so?" He questioned walking over to his h/c colored friend.
Y/N glanced up, her eyes laced with wonder and amazement. "Yeah! You look like a real pro!" She gushed. Midoriya sat on the grass, leaning back on his palms, his fingers running through the green blades.
He watched as Y/N scribbled into her notebook, a smile evident on her face. It was ridiculous how much she reminded him of himself his first year at UA. The excitement dripping from her being was enough to make anyone smile.
The green haired boy sighed, turning his attention to the grass. It had almost been a week since he met Y/N, meaning there was only one week until his costume was finished.
What came after?
"Izuku?"
The freckled boy looked up, his eyes wide as he found Y/N's face centimeters from his. The two stared into each other's eyes for a moment before Y/N smiled. "The bell rang. I was wondering if you wanted to grab lunch?"
Midoriya nodded slowly, keeping his eyes in contact with hers. Y/N stood, picking up her notebook. She turned, noticing the boy's eyes still on her. Her cheeks turned a light pink as she examined the boy on the grass.
Little did Midoriya know, she was having the same thoughts he was. Y/N didn't have many friends because of always being in the workshop. The closet thing she had to a best friend was Hatsume.
But she seemed to be getting closer to Midoriya than she ever thought she'd be with another human. And...
she didn't mind.
It was nice, having someone depend on her. A feeling she wasn't used to. Knowing the person depending on her was Midoriya just made her want to work that much harder.
She wanted him to come to the workshop, smile, and say, "Look! There's Y/N! My best friend and the girl I can depend on most! There's no way she'd disappoint me!"
But...
What if she did?
What if the costume wasn't good enough and she disappointed him. But no...that wasn't what she was worried about. Although, yes, Y/N worried that the costume wouldn't be good enough, she was more worried that she- herself would not be enough.
That she wouldn't-
"Y/N?"
Midoriya waved a hand in front of his friend's face, now standing. "Come on silly, we're gonna miss lunch." He grabbed her hand a began dragging her away from the field, Y/N following, still in a daze.
She glanced up, staring at the back of the boy's head. The warmth of his hand in her's trailed up her arm. A small smile pulled at her lips and she turned her gaze to the ground.
That's right.
She didn't have to worry because even if she did disappoint Midoriya he wouldn't leave. He wasn't that type of guy. Plus...
he believed in her.
