Chapter 4~ Dinner

The school day rolls by faster than I expected it to. The kids are amazing and very respectful. It's now pick up time and all the kids are gone....well all the kids expect Rose. I was cleaning off all the desk and wiping off the board when Rose offered to help me clean. I accepted it.

Rose was putting the colored pencils back in the cabinet while I was organizing a PowerPoint for tomorrow class. The door opens and I look up to see Chris walking in out of breath.

"H-hi sorry I'm late. I had a meeting and lost track of time." He apologized.

"DADDY!!" Rose yells and runs to Chris hugging his legs. We chuckle as he picks up Rose and kiss her cheeks.

"Hi sweetie. Did you have a good day today?" He ask her looking at her.

"Yes I did. I made two friends today. Their names is Peter and Luna." She says happily. Seeing her happy makes my heart flatter. I cant imagine Rose who's a bright young girl be so sad like she was earlier.

"That's amazing Rose. I'm very happy for you. Go let your things while I talk to Miss.L/N." He says putting her down.

"Okay daddy." She says walking to go get her things.

"How was she today? Any problems?" He ask facing me.

"No problems Mr.Evans. She's been an amazing student today. One of my best students actually. She's such an amazing little girl. You and your wife did an amazing job raising her." I say smiling.

"Wife? Oh no I'm very single." He says blushing.

"Oh I'm sorry. Well you did an amazing job raising her. If you don't mind can I say one thing." I ask him

"Sure. Go ahead." He says looking at me smiling.

"Something happened today with Rose. Nothing bad. I'm just a little concerned for Rose. After you left she been down the rest of the day. During lunch I talked with her and she said she was a little sad that you had left her before she could do her introduction. She also said she gets sad whenever you leave to go to meetings or trips for movies. Now it's not my place at all to tell you how to raise your child but she feels alone Mr.Evans. She just wants you to see her making you proud." I say to him softly. He sighs and looks down.

"I try to be there for Rose as much as I can. With the job I have and what I do for a living I can't be there all the time. I wanted to be there for when she did her introduction to the class but I had a meeting to get to and I couldn't be there. I try hard to be the best parent to Rose but I hate how she feels and I don't blame her. I'm trying Miss.L/N. I'm really trying." He says looking me sadly. I put my hand on his arm to comfort him.

" I know you are Mr.Evans. I suggest maybe having a talk with her. Let her explain to you how she feels. It would help a lot." I say to him smiling sadly at him. He gives me the same smile back.

"Thank you Y/N. I'll talk with her." He says smiling at me.

Rose comes back and looks at me and Chris smiling.

"I'm ready daddy!" She says happily making me and him look at her.

"Okay honey. Let's go." He says to her grabbing her hand.

"Bye Miss.L/N!" Rose says

"Bye Rose. See you tomorrow." I say turning away.

"Oh wait Miss.L/N." I hear Chris say making me turn around.

"Yes Mr.Evans." I say seeing him blushing.

"Umm so Saturday Rose and I are going to the park to take our dog for a walk. I was wondering if you wanted to join. Y-you don't have to say yes and you can bring your dog too." He say nervously making me chuckle.
