My perspective of men has been the same ever since I was the age of 9. After being molested by a family member I became very cautious of men and I always kept my guard up. Atleast that was until I met Trevor.

*phone rings*

I picked up the phone to see that it was my dad calling.

Adelin: "Hello?"

Dad: "Hey Addy! There's someone here I'd like for you to meet. Ask your mom if you could come over. You can bring your brother."

Adelin: "Okay."

*call ends*

Adeline: "Hey mom-"

Mom: "Yeah yeah I heard. Go if you want to and tell your brother I said to go with you"

Five minutes of walking and we finally arrived.

We walked through the already opened and was greeted by my father. He immediately led us to the living room. There sat a dark skinned boy with an afro with a undercut. He stood up and greeted me with a hug.

Samuel: "Hey. You must be Adelin. I've heard alot about you since I got here. I'm your cousin, Samuel from Antigua. I'm 19 and you?"

Adelin: "I'm 15. Nice to meet you. This is my brother, Joel, he's 12."

Samuel and I sat outside and talked whilst my brother played games on his phone. In the midst of our conversation, I noticed three men enter the yard. I paid no mind and continued talking until one of the men from earlier approached us. He was darked skinned and way taller than me. I don't know, maybe about 6ft? His 4c hair was up in a big puff and it looked softer than mines. He was pretty good looking.

Unnamed man: "Are you her boyfriend?"

Confused, my cousin and I looked at each other. What the fuck was this guy thinking?

Unnamed man: "Are you her boyfriend?"

I can't believe he asked again, I thought. The audacity!

Samuel answered in a serious tone saying that he's my cousin.

The guy then smiled and proceeded to ask me my name. After hearing the same question over and over I answered, "My name's 'name'."

He chuckled and said, "So you can't tell me your name. Alright."

Annoyed, I went inside to be away from that guy. I immediately regretted it as I heard my father shout my name. "Adelin! Adelin!" I wanted to hide but I sighed and went to him. As I stepped outside I saw a smirk across the guy's face. "Adelin, that's what you couldn't tell me", he said. He then told me his name was Trevor and that he hoped to see me again soon.

That evening I went home pissed but at the same time I couldn't wait to cross paths with Trevor again.
