THE ONE RING

CHAUGHT YOU!!!

The next morning we woke up with the sound of drums. A beautiful day and perhaps it would be super adventurous. Sonia had woken up and desired to go and ask two questions to the two brothers, Rudra Prakash Roy and Suhag Roy. Snigdha took her. I cleaned myself and got ready in new clothes. After all it was the greatest festival for us. Then I headed towards the breakfast table.

After some time, Snigdha joined me and informed that Sonia wanted to talk alone.
After making us wait, Sonia came to the table along with all others. Luchi and potato curry was served to us by Sumonto uncle. I felt pity for the man.

Snigdha's elder sister broke the silence first, "I suspect that someone had come to my room yesterday. On not finding the key to the showcase or the cabinet he had perhaps left."

This was the first time Sonia spoke in front of everyone. She said, "I have something to say. For the last few days, all of you have been suspecting each other for the trying to steal something from your home."

Rudra Prakash Roy shouted, "Anyways, what  are we dealing about so much. Sourjya tell us what do you want, you culprit..." And he was about to hold his collar when Sonia said loudly, "PLEASE, PLEASE... give me a chance to speak. Listen to me and then all of you would get your chance to speak."

All agreed. We were eager to listen to the story. Sonia started, "I believe, Snigdha's grandfather was a very prosperous man. He had inherited a imperialistic ring and all his children wanted that."

Sonia was silent for a moment and then started again, "Surprisingly, even though there was one ring, all the three sons also had one ring each. How can that be possible? I have seen none of the rings but I believe all of the three rings are deceptive."

Snigdha's elder uncle, Rudra Prakash Roy shouted, "How dare you say something like that about our father?"
Sonia replied, "I am not the only one who knows this. Even your younger brother knows about this. Isn't it?"
Everyone was astonished. All had the same question, HOW?

Sonia again started, " Being far more intelligent, he had found out that the ring was deceptive."

At last Suhag Roy himself spoke, "You can't say that I tried to steal...."
Sonia, "Yes. ... You tried, you can't deny it."
"Can you prove it? The theif was someone from the down floor and even I had theft in my room."

"Wait wait, I will prove it. Firstly I was spying last day on the second floor and I had seen someone and that was surely you. I have pictures. Secondly, there were three suspects Sumonto uncle, You and your elder brother. Last day, my friend sat on the stairs to watch if someone had come upstairs but according to her no-one went upstairs. Thirdly, today in the morning, I went to both of you and asked two questions. The first question was whether you had any idea about what the theif is searching. Mr. Rudra Prakash said he had no idea. On asking him that why was he blaming Sourjya, he said that these days youngsters are born for doing such unsocial things.                                      Next it was Mr. Suhag's turn. He said that someone was trying to steal the ring which he had. At that time I wondered how can even he have a ring? Then I got my answer when he said that his father had given him the ring and had told not to speak of it to anyone. "
"S.. so what?"
"You were searching for the ring in every possible place and then you found that you might get caught. So whenever anyone saw you, you ran downstairs and hid yourself. Right?"

"And what about the theft in his room?" I asked.
"It was a made up story just to clear his guilt.  Another thing, the ring he had was made of gold but the stones were not real. He had found the ring in Snigdha's father's almirah but he knew that it was also unreal and so he had thrown it away and its sound had woken up Mr. Roy. "

Rudra Prakash Roy said, "So that means that my ring is the real ring.... I was always the heir to it. I am the eldest, the only one who takes care of his business..." He was interrupted by Suhag who shouted and declared, "None of us got the ring, we have all been deceived."

All of them again looked at Sonia and she said, "Yes, that proves again that you have got your hands on all the three of them."

Snigdha's father now asked, "So... Where is the real ring?"
"As per me, it is with your only sister who stays in Darjeeling. Your father had given it to her assuming that she was the most worthy child."

Everyone grabbed Mr. Suhag and there was a fight to began when Sonia said, "With all your permission we seek to leave. Please be courteous to yourselves and remember, you are a aristocrat family."

Saying this we went to get our bags and then we came down again to go back home. While moving out we noticed all the faces were over cast with a grey shadow. That may be of guilt or of sadness. But our little Sherlock Holmes was moving out with great valour when the family thanked her graciously and blessed both of us.
