Desperado - Part 5

"Mrs Ridhima Singhania", a nurse announced her name and Ridhima swiftly lifted her hand up. It's been only a week since she was married to Vihaan and she was already comfortable being Mrs Singhania. She decided to marry Vihaan solely for their child. But she was surprised when Vihaan expressed that he had accepted her as his life partner wholeheartedly. She expected a loveless marriage that is based on mutual respect and friendship but Vihaan offered her a chance to have a real family. On their wedding night, Vihaan made it clear that their marriage is for real. He considers her as his wife in true sense however he gave her space and time to accept him. "Ready for the appointment?", Vihaan intertwined his fingers into hers and she nodded happily before entering consultation room

From the moment Vihaan announced their wedding, he protected her honour and tried his best to keep up the farce that they were in love for long but hid it from outer world. Many speculations ran around their rushed wedding but he managed to hushed it aptly. Ridhima wanted to share the truth with Siya but she seemed to be least bothered. It appeared that Siya fully believed the fairytale spun around her boss and bestfriend. Siya even revealed that she always knew that Vihaan had feelings for Ridhima.  Ridhima laughed inwardly at her naïve friend who was a sucker for classic romance. But she has to agree to Siya that Vihaan is husband material

In few days, Vihaan made his space in her heart. Although their marriage was not consummated, he made feel special and cherished. Their wedding night was special where she spend cuddled into his warmth while he promised to keep her happy. Eventhough they entered their relationship for the sake of their child, Ridhima knew that soon they will be progressing as a real couple. Vihaan was trying his best and it urged her to give her best to make their relationship work. 

Today was Ridhima's first appointment with gynac and she was so excited that she giggled while waiting for the Doctor to arrive. Vihaan as usual remained level headed but let her enjoy the moment. "Mr and Mrs Singhania", Doctor addressed both of them and sat with Ridhima's report. She cleared her throat and spoke to them, "I am sorry but Mrs. Singania is not pregnant".

Ridhima was devastated. One moment she was on peak and next she was thrown down mercilessly. They were explained that pregnancy tests are not always accurate and her symptoms were simply misleading. The gynecologist consoled them that they are newly married young couple who are healthy and will conceive once they decided to have a baby. While Vihaan conversed with the doctor, Ridhima was absolutely lost in her agony. She didn't realise when they left the hospital and reached their home. 

Vihaan tried to give Ridhima some time to come in terms with sad news. She appreciated his efforts but soon became apprehensive. Will he want to end our marriage? Honestly, she can't blame Vihaan if he did. Afterall, the reason of their marriage is longer valid. Infact, she decided that she should quit while she still had some dignity left.

"Sweet Heart, have some food?", Vihaan coaxed her to have dinner. Ridhima had been cooped in their bedroom for hours. Finally he decided to barge in with food tray and make her feel comfortable. He was happy when she didn't protest. She kept a sweet smile but he could see through her pretexts. He didn't know how to breech the topic and hence decided to give it a break until next day. They both ate in silence but tension was visible. "We will work it out", finally he was unable to bear her condition and talked. "I know", she simply nodded but her eyes teared up. 

Taunts from her previous boyfriends echoed in Ridhima's mind. None will want you until they have a need. Unlike them, Vihaan was too polite to throw her out mercilessly. But she cannot exploit his good nature. "You can ask your lawyers to draw our divorce papers. I will move out in few days", her words made him aghast so she added, "Don't worry, I won't demand any alimony or compensation. I will really appreciate if you allow me continue in your office, until I find another job".
