Entry 13: June 12
The maids are always outside my room by eight o'clock in the morning every day during the summer.
One leaves to get me lunch from the main house at 11:45. The other stays and watches my room. Then, at 7:30 PM, they leave and another one, this time alone, stations herself further from my room than the maids from before.
She stays there all night until the other maids come back once more.
It's like this all summer.
I've tried escaping before—not permanently, that would be stupid—just for a day or so. But there are more guards stationed around the estate, at the fences. They've always stopped me from leaving, and the next day, my father would meet with me to personally punish me.
But I can't take this anymore.
Even though I know I must come back, and I know this is irrational, and that I will regret this later, I have to leave. Even for a single night.
So between the time that the two maids leave at 7:30, in the light of the setting sun, I will make my escape.
