From Friends to This

Chapter 2

The bell rings signaling the end of the break. Natalie and Taylor are walking to their Biology class, when Madelaine rushes to their side with Gabrielle.

"Nat! T! Hey." Madelaine takes a few deep breaths. "I want you to meet Gabrielle. She is new to the school. Transferred in just today."

"Hi, Gabrielle. I am Taylor Gomes. Nice to meet you." 

"And I am Natalie Marbilia." Natalie's blue eyes shine as she smiles. 

"Hey! Um, what class do you have now?" Gabrielle asks carefully.

"Biology. What about you?" 

"Me too! Shall we walk together?" Gabrielle asks anxiously, trying not to say the wrong thing.

"Of course, we were just on our way." Natalie smiles in a way that all of Gabrielle's anxiety vanishes and she can not help but smile back.

All of them take a seat around one table. Twenty minutes in, Kyle decides to join the class, while the professor is turned around facing the blackboard, explaining diffusion. He walks silently, trying not to catch Mrs. Santher's attention.

"Mr. Paulins!" All of Kyle's efforts go to waste. "You do realize you are late to class by almost a half hour?" 

Kyle looks at Natalie and turns around with a smirk.

"I am sorry, Mrs. Santher," He says with one of his best smiles and continues in a suggestive tone  "But I could always make it up to you?" 

Mrs. Santhers blushes and asks him to take a seat. He sits down in the empty seat next to Natalie. Everyone looks at them with raised eyebrows expecting Natalie to say something, but she stays quiet.

"So, where were you?" Natalie asks after a few minutes.

"Uh, I was at the cafeteria. With Chris." Kyle whispers back.

"Oh, where is he now? Doesn't he have biology too?" 

"Yes, he does, but I don't know where he went. He said he had to use the restroom."

"Oh, okay."

By the end of the day, Gabrielle realizes that Madelaine and Natalie were much better friends than she had been led on to believe. Apparently, they hung out after school with Taylor and some Katie person, almost everyday. Since they had not asked her if she would like to come yet, Gabrielle started walking towards the bus stop.

"Gab! Where are you going?" Natalie called to her.

"I am taking the bus home."

"Well, we just said that we are hanging out at my place. Don't you wanna come?"

"Sure, I would love to. I just didn't think you guys wanted me there-"

"Oh, bullshit," Natalie clears her throat lightly, "Gabrielle.... uh?"

"Warren."

"Gabrielle Warren, we would be honored if you decided you want to spend some of your precious time with us?" 

"I would love to." Gabrielle says in a British accent.

"Where did the accent come from?" Taylor laughs.

The four girls are laughing when they are interrupted by Chris and Kyle. Kyle puts an arm around Natalie but everyone could see him practically swooning over a girl's ass, who was walking by. Natalie only nudged him lightly with her elbow but didn't say anything. 

"Where were you during biology?" Natalie asked Chris.

"Here and there," Chris smirks "Why you missed me?"
