Maya's POV:

"Soo, where do you want to eat?" Riley asks.

"I dont really care. Just not anything fancy." I laugh.

"Okay. How about that place over there?" Riley points. "Its fast food."

"Sure."

We walk in, and sit down at a booth. The cold air was refreshing, since it was so hot outside.

Someone came to our table.

"May I take your order?" The lady asks.

"Umm, I'd like a hamburger please." Riley says.

"And I'd like one too." I add.

"Okay, your food will be right out." She smiles and walks away.

Lucas's POV:

I was working on some dishes when my manager comes up to me.

"Lucas, two hamburgers served to table 4!" she shouts

"Yes ma'am." I replied.

I grabbed two hamburgers, put them on a tray and took off to table 4.

I almost reached the table when I realised whi was sitting there- Maya and Riley.

I freeze, and Maya looks over at me.

"L-lucas..?" She says slowly.

"Hi.. Maya."

"Um, Riley- i'm not hungry anymore.. Can we go?" She says and stands up.

She looks at both of us.

"Lucas? Why are you.. In California?" She asks ignoring me.

"Its a long story." I say.

"Yeah to long. Can we go now??" Maya says impatiently.

"Maya.. I think you need to talk to Lucas."

"What? No! Now are you coming or what, because im leaving with or without you."

Maya walks out, and Riley motions me to follow.

I set the tray down and follow Maya.

I get outside and her eyes look teary.

"Maya, wait!" I say.

She keeps walking.

I run up and turn her around.

"Maya- look im sorry."

"Sorry? Sorry doesn't cut it this time! Can you just leave me alone and forget we even met?" She yells and walks away.

Maya's POV:

Lucas. The one who broke my heart- several times. But.. I stuck with him. This time? Forget it.

Riley comes out with our burgers to go.

"Thanks Riles." I force a smile.

"Anything for my best friend." She smiles back.

Riley's POV:

We get back to the house, and I feel tired from the crying.

"Hey Riley?"

"Yeah?"

"I think im gonna take a nap.. But we should definitely go to the beach tomorrow." I say tiredly.

"Yeah, totally."

I immediately have a big idea.

Im gonna get Lucas and Maya back together.
