I wake up to the sound of the dogs barking to go out. "Ugh. You are your father's son," I grumble to Sy before rolling out of bed. I have the worst sugar headache from all of the ice cream I consumed last night.

As I enter the house from letting the dogs out, the house phone rings. I make it to the phone right before it goes to the machine.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Hi. Is Brantley there?" a woman's voice asks. I'm a little nervous to answer because this could be a crazy fan.

"No, he's not. May I ask who's calling?" I ask respectfully.

"It's Jana. I'm just returning his call," she replies smugly.

This mother fucker is calling our house? Oh hell to the no!

"I'm sorry, Jana, but I think it's best that you never call this number again," I answer calmly before hanging up.

I rush to my cell phone and turn it on. About a hundred texts, calls and voice mails appear. Most of them are from BG. I dial his cell number. He answers on the first ring.

"Baby girl? I'm so sorry. Yer right," he starts apologizing.

"Please explain to me, why Jana just called our house number asking for you. She said that she was returning your call, Brantley," I explain angrily.

"What? She lyin' baby girl. I promise ya. I never called her. She's tryna stir up trouble for us," he tells me softly through the phone.

I feel a tear slide down my cheek. "I don't know what to believe anymore," I sob into the phone.

"Briel, please don't believe dat witch. She's just tryna to make us miserable because she is. Don't let her get into yer head," he pleads with me.

I sniffle and BG sighs sadly on the other end. "Briel, I love ya. I swear to ya that nothin' is goin' on wit me and Jana."

I hang up the phone and rush upstairs to our bedroom. I grab a bag and start stuffing some of my clothes into it. I need to be with someone that I trust and that person is my daddy. I grab my bag, slide my coat on and grab leashes for the dogs.

I put the truck in park and walk the dogs to my dad's front porch. I ring the doorbell and a minute later, he answers the door.

"Briel, what's wrong, sweetheart?" he asks me, concerned when he sees my tears.

"Daddy, I don't know if Brantley's cheating on me," I sob before launching myself into his arms.

"Oh sweetie. Brantley loves you. I doubt that he would do something like that to hurt you. Come on inside and we'll think about this rationally," he tells me before grabbing my bag and letting the dogs inside.

"I'm just so tired, daddy. I didn't sleep last night and Jana called our home phone today. She told me that she was returning BG's call. Why would he be calling her?" I ask him sadly.

"Bri, I'm sure there's an explanation. For now, why don't you lay down in the guest room and I'll wake you in a couple hours for lunch?" he asks me while ushering me into the other room.

~ BG POV ~

She hung up on me. I know I don't deserve that, but in her eyes I've committed the ultimate betrayal. I can't believe my baby girl believes that I would call Jana. That slut has ruined enough of my life. She is not gonna get away with this.
