It was alive. The doll's eyes moved around studying Taehyung's face. Taehyung began to smile wide, a smile that would be seen as creepy. Finally his doll was finished, it was pure perfection. it had beauty and now it was living too.
"perfect!" Taehyung said and looked the doll up and down, everything was still perfectly in place. "Just absolutely perfect, beautiful" He stepped back. "can you move?"
The doll stared at him for a long time before turning its head and walking out of the cell towards the raven haired man. Taehyung smiled again. "come come, let's go up. i want to see you in full light" Taehyung said walking to the stairs that lead out of the basement. The doll just followed him silently. They entered the ballroom again and Taehyung turned on the lights, placed his lantern on a chair and turned the fire off. He Looked at his doll that stood there in the light. "Yes..yes yes!" he clapped his hands a few times walking around the doll to observe it.
"Mr.Kim? not here?" the dool spoke up. Taehyung didn't expect it to speak and his eyes widened as he walked in front of the doll and looked at it curiously.
"You mean my father?"
"Father..."
"he is not here, he is dead" Taehyung answered that the doll could speak was even better. it was more than perfect but he did not have a word for more than perfection. "what's your name, what shall i call you?" another thing this doll will have differently than the others. this one was going to get a name. he will have its own identity.
"I am......J...min?....jam?...i don't remember" the doll frowned. "something with a j....and a m..." Its voice was different than the humans Taehyung knew. this one sounded light, like a ray of sunlight, it sounded magical. A beautiful voice.
Taehyung suddenly remembered something when the doll said those words and letters. J...min...wait i have heard that before. "Is your name maybe Jimin?" he asked. He remembered his father saying a name like that a few times before.
"Jimin...yes, that's my name," the doll said.
"Jimin...i remember that name."
"Mr. Kim is dead?" the doll asked, ignoring what Taehyung said.
"yes he got murdered, im his son. Taehyung"
"I remember you," the doll said. Taehyung tilted his head slightly not getting what the doll meant. "I have seen you....you were smaller back then"
"Really? i don't think I remember," Taehyung said.
"oh...." the doll sounded a bit sad about it. Now Taehyung thought of it. The doll sounded very sad from the first words he spoke.
"why are you here?"
"What?"
"why are you in this house, why don't you go rest your soul?"
"I cant....im stuck"
"Stuck? Are you one of my father's too?"
"Mr.kim?" the doll asked tilting its head.
"yes mr.kim"
"yes"
"i see, well. you have a body now. I made it so you're still mine. but you are free to walk around without leaving the house's property" Taehyung said. "can't have anyone see you and try to steal you away from me" the toy maker grinned and walked to the stage. "I made your body able to dance, it's got a wide range of move ability" Taehyung turned to the doll and motioned it to come over. which the doll did. Its heels clacked on the floor until its feet came to a halt in front of his creator. Jimin saw Taehyung as his creator now. the one who gave him a body back. Who brought him back to life. He will follow taehyung who got him out of his misery. "Please can you move a bit for me?"
Jimin nodded and spread its arms turning around. moved its legs and squatted down to see if everything was possible. this body felt just like a human's but a bit stiff on some parts, only the parts in the joints could move. He didn't have skin like a human. He was porcelain, which was far from identical to a human's skin. but it was alright, it still had the appearance of skin given by the skilled paintwork of the doll maker.
"Good good" Taehyung said but Jimin's eyes moved to the side where a doll was sitting on a bench near the wall. It's head rested down on its shoulder as it stared into space. Jimin looked at it for a long time and Taehyung noticed. The man turned his head to see what the doll was looking at and saw a doll on the bench.
"oh, i didn't leave you there" he said and walked to get it. he picked it up holding it in his hand while walking back to Jimin. the doll's eyes fixed on the doll in his hands. "do you like the doll?" Taehyung asked. Jimin shook his head and took a step back. "hm, okay"
"dolls are evil," Jimin said. "they dont like me"
"what do you mean?" Taehyung asked. He had some knowledge about this all but not everything. He still hasn't completed his research into his father's secrets and work. Unknowingly he knew more than he thought himself, and it had bad effects on him. Which explains his odd behaviour sometimes. He got joy out of the most strange things. Like watching lifeless dolls and playing music as he watched the puppets dance. He had many other toys around the house like a train that went over the stairs following the railing.
"they hate me, I can feel it," Jimin said softly. Staring at the doll in Taehyung's arms. Who's eyes stared at him blankly but in an intense way.
"hm, i will put it away then" Taehyung didn't like that Jimin disliked the doll but he did not say anything about it and put the doll somewhere else in the room. "can you dance?" he asked when he returned to the beautiful doll.
Jimin nodded, he liked dancing when he was still able to.
"dance for me '' Taehyung said and rushed to the stage. "i have music, and you have your own little stage. This room is all yours" he was speaking while disappearing behind the deep red curtains to turn on the music.
Jimin looked around in the room. It didn't change much. This room had been his favorite from the start. He walked to the stage liking how the heels were heard with each step he took. It gave him an elegant feeling.
Suddenly the sound of music was heard. It was old music with some crackle, but it was not bad. Jimin could feel the music, and before he realised it his doll body was moving. He had to get used to the way this body worked but he managed. Moving his hips before moving his arms in an elegant and gentle way. His legs and feet bring him side to side to each corner of the stage making pirouettes and little jumps.
Meanwhile, without the doll noticing, taehyung had taken a seat on one of the other chairs that he didn't throw over yesterday and looked at the doll. A smile on his lips seeing him dance. This was the dance he wanted, this was how he wanted the doll to move. Elegant and alive. It was again, perfect. It reminded him of a ballerina in a music box.
The music died down and Taehyung clapped standing up like he just watched an opera. Jimin stared at him. He felt a nice feeling inside seeing taehyung's reaction, a happy feeling. It was nice.
"Thank you," he said.
"for what?" Taehyung asked and stopped with clapping.
"for giving me life" Jimin said, he will be forever grateful for the dollmaker. The man who saved him from his unending pain. He will serve this man now for as long he got this body. it's his way of repaying Taehyung.
