Lillian sighed and walked out of the kitchen to the group of teens that had just came in from their last quittich game of the night. Most of them went on up to their rooms, but Fred lingered behind. "So, how was dinner?" he asked, obviously knowing the answer.
Lillian looked at him and scoffed, "How would you expect? Dinner with Snape and almost every other enemy of the order."
Fred shook his head, "I couldn't imagine. How are you?" He asked, genuinely concerned.
Lillian played with her hair as she took it down, as it had started to give her a headache, "I'm decent, I guess. I mean, about as good as I could be in this situation."
Fred nodded, "I get that, well, want to see our newest product? It's pretty amazing, we just tested it on Ron after you left. Mum got mad, but everyone else loved it." he laughed as he re-lived the memory from earlier.
Lillian looked up at him, "Actually..." she sighed, "You've been more of a brother to me than my own brother, I feel like it's time I tell you something. I haven't told anyone yet."
"Of course, of course. Let's step outside and talk, that way it doesn't go everywhere."
Lillian nodded, "Yeah." They both walked outside, going out to the garden that had been dusted with a small coat of snow. She sighed softly, trying to work up the courage to speak.
Fred looked at her, "Take you're time. Here." He took his scarf from his neck and placed it around her.
Lillian smiled softly at the gesture and looked at him, "I don't know exactly how to say this, other than to just show you. I will say, I hate this mark with a livid passion. When I first got it, I was happy to be a part of something. Now...I realize how much I hate it. I want to get rid of it. It's not who I am." She wiped her eyes softly, raising her left sleeve, revealing the dark mark that had been given to her only months before, "This is why Malfoy is around me so much. This is why everything I do means something more than it should."
Fred looked at her, "I can't believe they did this to you. I'm so sorry.." he said, taken back by the fact that anyone could give this mark to a living person as compassionate and caring as Lillian.
Lillian sighed, "I wanted it...at first." She admitted, talking to him. "But, then I realized that it wasn't who I was. I met you...Hermione, George. I was happy for once. So, so, SO happy." She had started to cry at that point, and wiped a tear from her eye.
Fred pulled her close to him. "There is nothing you could do that would ever make me want to leave you on your own. You're too kind for that. I....love you, Lillian."
Lillian looked up, a bit shocked at the statement made by the Weasley, "Huh?"
Fred smiled, "I love you, so much."
Lillian coughed softly, still not sure how anyone could ever love someone like her. She smiled at him, "I love you too."
Fred chuckled softly, "I knew it." He held her softly, ruffling her hair.
Lillian looked at him, "So we're good? Like even though I have this? We're okay?"
Fred smiled, "We're more than okay." He chuckled, "now George and I can make those dark mark pops look more real though." He said teasingly.
Lillian shoved him playfully as they both walked inside.
