It was late at night when Selina walked to the lake in the middle of the woods in the Nest. She took off her shoes and walked to the edge of the pier, sitting down at the end and draping her legs over it. She sighed and swirled her legs around a little. After a couple of minutes, she looked up to the moon, it was a full one.
"Hey mom. Dad. Little bro. How are you guys doing up there? It's been a crazy day for me. There was a celebrity who showed in our Entomology class, our classmates' IDs were stolen and Hyeseong..... asked me out on a date. I wish you could've met him. He's an amazing guy, a little rough around the edges but he has a good heart. I've liked him for quite a while now if you guys weren't able to tell by the numerous times I talked about him. I miss you guys so much," she looked at her feet, "and I'm so sorry."
She spent a moment longer staring at the moon, a couple of tears trailing down her face. "I'll talk to you guys again next week. Hopefully I'll be together with Seong by then. I love you with all my heart and I hope you know that I'm grateful for what you guys did and that I don't blame you for doing what you did on that day. Cause I would've done the same for you. See ya."
Selina got up and walked back into the forest barefoot, leaving her shoes on the pier to pick it up later. She made herself little flip flops from her webs and slipped them on, taking the long route back to her dorm. A bright light caught her attention and she walked towards it.
She walked into a clearing and saw a huge glowing circle in the middle of it. Selina heard a few leaves crunching and she looked over to see Suchan walk into the clearing a few feet away from where she was.
"You followed the light too?" she said.
"Yup. I was walking around to clear my thoughts when I saw it." he looked at it again and said "What do you think it is?"
"So I would say it's a portal but those are too technologically advanced to actually exist so I'm leaning towards freaky light show."
"That could be it."
Selina and Suchan walked closer to the glowing circle. Suchan stopped six feet away from the circle and said "Maybe we shouldn't get too close, it might be dangerous."
Selina scoffed and said "Please. At most it will burn me and then I'll just molt and be A-Okay again."
She walked closer and stopped a foot away from it when she heard more leaves crunching. Hyeseong and Huijin walked into the clearing.
"What are you guys doing here?" Selina asked.
"We were out looking for you guys when we remembered what day it was. We went over to the lake and followed your footprints from there and saw a light." Huijin said.
"Lina, get away from the weird ass thing. You don't know what it can do." Hyeseong said.
"Fine. But only because you're asking." Selina said and started to walk away from the circle. When she took a step, the circle started spinning around rapidly, pulling her in. She shot a couple of webs towards the trees and felt her legs lift off the ground.
Her legs disappeared into the circle behind her and she was barely holding on. Hyeseong yelled "Selina!" and started to make his way towards her.
Selina heard the branch she attached her web to creak and said "Seong! Stop! Don't come any closer. It's too late for me but you guys are safe. Hui thanks for being there for me and Seong," the branch snapped and Huijin screamed "No! Sel!"
Selina looked into Hyeseong's eyes and said "I love you." before she disappeared into the darkness.
