The atmosphere around the two was heavy as the trio felt sweat dribble down their forehead.

"Checkmate," Isabella declared.

It was very often for the three to play chess with their mama, but never once did Willow ever participate since she deemed it to be "annoying" and "too much work". Luckily, Norman was somehow able to talk Willow into playing chess, so here they are now, observing the two from afar.

Willow sighed and stretched her arms, "Man, I lost. Whatever, if the three can't beat mama then I definitely can't either."

Isabella gently patted her head, "Don't worry, one day you will beat me, Willow. You four should go outside with the other children. Have a happy new year!"

"Happy new year, mama," all of them replied, exiting out the door to join with the others.

The caretaker's once loving expression morphed into a frown almost instantaneously as soon as the quartet left.

Isabella wasn't satisfied with her win since she also observed the game while playing along with Willow. The ravenette's playing style was sharp, but extremely effective that it backed Isabella in a corner, however...

Why on earth did Willow let her win?

"Stop dodging my snowballs, Ray!" Willow shouted, "I put in hard work making them, don't you dare put them out of use!"

"You just suck at throwing!" Ray teased.

"Look at my snowman everyone!" Gilda beamed, showing off her crooked creation.

Don snickered, "That thing looks ugly!"

"I think it looks beautiful, Gilda!" Anna clapped her hands, "Here let me-"

"IT'S A CRIME SCENE!" Emma screeched.

She was pulling a passed out Norman while Ray poked his cheeks with a tree branch with Willow trying her hand on braiding the albino's hair.

"His hair is literally to his scalp, what are you trying to achieve?" Ray asked, making Willow shrug in reply.

"Wait no, he hasn't been murdered!" Emma gasped, "Norman fainted!"

Isabella approached the four and leaned her palms towards Norman's forehead as she took his temperature with a thermometer, "Looks like a cold..."

"Listen, children. From now on, you must stay away from the infirmary," she announced, "You must stay away."

A moment of silence.

One.

Two.

Three.

"NOOOO!" Emma cried, shaking a stale-faced Willow around, "Why must destiny be like this!"

Two kids, both near the doors of the infirmary where they were strictly forbidden to go in.

"I have no part in this, Emma," Willow whispered, picking the infirmary's lock, "Once you get in and get caught, don't tell mama that I helped you. Or I won't be able to get my candy privileges anymore."

"Okay!" the red head cheered.

Once the door was opened, she sped her way to Norman's bed making an "oomph" sound from the other. Willow sighed and walked away nonchalantly where Ray was reading a book, pretending that she definitely didn't break through a door for Emma.
