Year 6 - September 1, 1976>>
"Bye Rosie Posy!" my father yells.
"Bye Dad!" I run into the train looking for my best friends. I go to the same cabin we've always occupied and find two black-haired boys and a red-head.
"Merlin, I've missed you guys," I hug Lily and Regulus. Sev doesn't like hugs, so I just nod him a hello. Reggie was a year younger than us, but we took him in and looked after him. He was definitely better than his insufferable brother.
"I'm going to find Marlene and Alice, I'll see you later," Lily says. We kiss cheeks before she leaves.
"You're gonna have to do more than that if you want the girl Sev," I turn around and smirk at him.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Mate, you've been pining over her since your second year," Reggie pipes in.
"Yeah, even Potter has a better shot than you and she's rejected him over a hundred times. You guys have been friends since before first year," Reggie and I start laughing while Sev looks away, "Ok, Sev we're sorry." I put my hands up in defeat. Reggie snorts and we break out into anther fit of laughter.
Ever since first year Sev and I have been close, considering his best friend at the time, Lily, was in the rivalry house. Remus and I grew apart, I still cared for him of course, but I think he grew to hate me. During breaks he would stay with the Potter's and on the full moons he used a secret passageway from the Whomping Willow to the Shrieking Shack. His friends accompany him during the full moons, turning into their animagus forms. Little did they know I too learned how to shift into an animagus too. I worried about Remy sometimes and would sneak out on full moons, watching from afar, making sure he was ok. I miss him, I really do, but I don't think he'll ever forgive me for all the years of torment.
"I'm going to go find the trolley, did you guys want something?" I offer.
"Ooh, get me two pumpkin pasties and some fizzing whizzbees," Reggie pipes.
"What about you Sev?"
"Chocolate frog and a cauldron cake." He was a bit tense. I couldn't tell if it was from the Lily comment we made or something else.
"Mmk." They hand me a few sickles and I head off. I see the trolley from afar, along with Black and Potter. I groan internally and plan to ignore them.
"Hello dear! Anything off the trolley?" I give a closed-lip smile and order. While she's preparing it for me, I can feel their eyes burning holes into me. I get annoyed and finally give them my attention.
"Is there something you need boys?" I hiss. Black gives Potter a knowing smirk rubs his chin.
"Well who might you be?" he finally says. He reaches for my hand, but I quickly slap it away and scowl at him. "Ooh, kitten's got claws."
"Shove off Black before I hex you." He takes a step back as if he's suddenly recognizes me. But before he can get a word out, Potter beats him to it.
"Rosalie?" I turn my head towards Potter and glare.
"Potter," I warn. I didn't like being called by my whole name. Everyone knew it was either Lupin or Rosie.
"Right, sorry. Almost didn't recognize you there for a sec." Sirius snorts, causing the attention to resort back to him.
"Here you go dear." I take the bag of treat from her hand and turn to walk away, but someone grabs my shoulder.
"Let go of my shoulder Black." He quickly lets go of me.
"Can I talk to you, alone, in private?"
"Whatever you need to say, you can say it right here." I roll my eyes already bored. "Well, get on with it."
"Right, um, how's Reggie?" I'm taken off guard. I was expecting him to annoy me with his pointless flirting, but here he was asking about his brother. I had the sudden urge to ask about Remus.
"H-he's doing well, why do you ask?" I look into his eyes. Grey, silver eyes I notice. I finally, actually look at him. He's gotten taller this summer, shoulders broader and hair longer. He had a new scar on his jaw.
"Something happened over the summer, it's none of your concern." He looks out the window from the side. I slightly frown.
"H-how's Remus?" He turns to me, tongue poking through his cheek and trails his eyes up and down my body. Someone rushes by me, pushing me into Black. He catches me in his arms. I look up at him through lashes. I push off him quickly before anyone saw.
"He's doing just fine." I nod and walk away.

"Salazar, why are my pasties all crushed?"
"My cakes too."
"Someone crushed into me on my way back," I say as I bite into my licorice wand.
"Bugger."
"Hey, Reggie what happened over summer?" He looks up from his bag of treats, looking at me warily.
"What do you know?"
"Nothing." He lets out a breath through his nose and looks out the window. I notice Severus was awfully quiet and was staring at Reggie, slightly glaring.
"Well-"
"Regulus don't," Severus warns. I look between the two and sense the thick tension of something larger happening. Reggie glares back and looks back at me.
"I was going to say that Sirius just ran away this summer, I'm guessing he went crying to the Potter's." I sit back and observe the two. The weight on Snape's shoulders seemed to have lifted; he was now relaxed and sitting back. Reggie was frowning as he ate his fizzing whizzbees.
"I'm going to find the girls." I get up and walk out. Before I can walk away, I hear Sev say something to Reggie.
"No! We cannot tell her. You know the deal Black."
"...can bring her in, the..."
"...we will not drag her into this.."
"...fucking Sirius..." What did Sirius have to do with this? And what were they hiding? Who were they talking about?
"We're doing this to protect them, her."
"...really like her, you will keep your trap shut." I take a small peek through the window and see Sev standing over Reggie, grabbing the bottom of his chin and pointing at him. Regulus was fuming. I walk away before they could see me.
I was lost in thought, not minding where I was going and bump into a tall figure. I look to see my brother. He must have seen my distressed expression, his face softens and was about to say something before Pettigrew called out to him.
"Moony!" He looks up and I slip away. I was long gone by the time he looked back at the spot I was in. I finally find Lily, Alice, and Marlene cuddled together, probably gossiping. They were giggling obnoxiously.
"Rosie!" Alice runs up to me and hugs me tightly. Merlin I really hate hugs.
"Hello to you too Alice," I groan.
"We were just talking about you," said Marlene.
"Hey Mar, so what is this about me?" Marlene and Alice share mischievous smirks.
"Someone's got a crush on you who's very good friends with Lily's Potter." Lily groans and rolls her eyes. I snort as I lay my head onto Lily's lap and close my eyes.
"Oh little Peter," Alice exasperates. I shoot up.
"WHATT!!!" The girls explode into a fit of giggles.
