No-one said anything. They all just glared at me. Now I wished I had told someone to tell Josh I loved him. I was frozen in fear, trying my hardest to disguise it, keep my face still. Greyback would take advantage of any weakness shown.
'Molly Black! Where have I heard that name before?' said Greyback, 'Oh yes, you're one of Dumbledore's tame wolves.'
'Not anymore. I've grown tired of that man. He would hand me straight to the Dementors if I gave into my nature!' I said. I hated saying this, but they wouldn't believe me otherwise, 'I've decided to leave school and join your army if you'll let me.'
'Of course! Why wouldn't we let you?' said Greyback but he seemed suspicious.
I was not about to let on that I was the alpha. That would cause problems as Greyback was used to being the alpha. None of them aware, and they wouldn't be made aware until I was sure Greyback wouldn't catch wind of it.
'Me and Lucinda are going to go hunt down some food,' said Greyback and him and a female werewolf ran out of the cave.
I had the feeling Lucinda was his beta. His right hand. With both of them gone, now was my chance. I cleared my throat quietly and everyone looked at me. None of these werewolves looked like a threat. They all looked rather scared.
'Now... Do any of you have any idea who I am?' I asked and they all shook their heads, 'I am Molly Black, the alpha of all werewolves. Now, I am here to see if I can... if I can get any of you to join my army. I can guarantee that it will have much better accommodations than this and much better food supplies. Who is ready to hear what I have to say?'
All of the werewolves seemed rather interested. None of them looked as though they were going to go running to Greyback. I was taking a serious risk, but it was going to be worth it... I hoped.
'My army is not going to fight with Voldemort,' some of them flinched at the name, 'But we are going to help defeat him. Now, if you join me, you do not have to fight. You can leave straight afterwards if you want out. I won't look down on you for it and I certainly won't force anyone to fight, if it comes to that.'
'Excuse me,' said one boy who looked only slightly older than me, 'My name is Jesse and I was wondering... How do you know we're not going to run and tell Greyback?'
'I don't, but it's a risk I'm willing to take,' I said, 'You can tell him if you like, then he'd kill me, but at least I'd know I died fighting for a good cause.'
'Well said!' said one of the werewolves and the rest of them murmured in agreement.
'So... Who's in?' I asked and they all cheered, 'Now, I'm going to stay here for a month or two... See if I can get Greyback's plans. You'll all know when I need you to fight, if you will fight! And if you will fight, you will know exactly where to come when the time is right.'
I went over to a chair in the corner next to Jesse.
'Hello,' he said.
'Hey,' I replied, smiling.
'I, for one, will fight alongside you,' he said.
'Thank you... Do you think any of them will tell?' I asked.
'No. I've got to know them and all of them want You-Know-Who defeated. Greyback can't seem to recruit the ones who stand by You-Know-Who,' said Jesse and I nodded.
Then Greyback returned. He had a small boy's corpse in his hands and he threw it at us.
'Dinner is served,' he said.
I was horrified to see them all lunge at the boy and start eating. Jesse gave me an apologetic look then he went in as well. I was frozen in shock. But I supposed very few werewolves actually managed to control themselves now.
